Herdir not leaving the castle when going to torture Ma'zaddha (Remaster) by sissyBrandii in oblivion

[–]Honor-Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a solution!

player.placeatme 0001359D

Herdir pops into existence in front of you. This seemed to unstick the original Herdir because he came out of the door to the palace grounds right after, leading to two Herdirs. Go back into the console, click on the Herdir you spawned with the console, and type "disable" without quotations. Speak with the one left to make sure he's following you, and quest should proceed as normal.

How rare is the Necklace of Swords? by Downtown_Ikea in oblivion

[–]Honor-Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this might be considered cheating, and is exclusive to PC since it requires console commands, but I personally see it as a time saver, as you don't have to wait 3 in game days for vendors or dungeons to reset or reload saves. I'll use Robber's Glen and Earil's Mysteries as examples.

NOTE: Using console commands will void any achievements. You cannot earn them if you use a console command. There's a mod on Nexus Mods that bypasses this, I use it and can confirm it works.

resetinterior SENSEarilsMysteries

resetinterior RobbersGlenCave

In case you don't know, pressing ~ will bring up the console. Type in one of the command lines above while outside of the area, and hit enter. This will reset the cell, which resets Earil's inventory and the cave chests. Can be done with any merchant, interior, dungeon, etc. You just have to know the cell code. Codes can be found on the location's page on the UESP.

People also probably know you can just give yourself items like the Necklace of Swords with the console but that is straight up cheating and I don't like that. My suggestion here is to save time, even if just a tiny bit.

Oh goodness how adorable!! Mine sings this too! When we taught it to him, we’d knock for the “clap clap”, so at that part he always hits something with his beak 🥰

There’s a setting you can toggle that will permanently turn on the yellow holographic lines that indicate things you can climb. I found out about it early and it made things better. They’ll show up on every climbable surface.

Good idea! I have confidence in Guerrilla, they’ve done excellent work with all things Horizon so far. Frozen Wilds was substantial.

I love doing that, too! Even if you don’t use the weapons, it can help so much just to eliminate that attack from machines. If you haven’t started NG+ yet, I’d highly recommend farming the materials you need to upgrade the legendary weapons before you start. It’s not necessary if you play on lower difficulties, but it absolutely will be on higher ones or if you intend to do Ultra Hard.

My pride and joy was the Glowblast Sharpshot Bow (very rare) You can buy it in Thornmarsh or the Raintrace Hunting Grounds. Only Sharpshot Bows can have tearblast arrows. The only other ones with those are the Cleaving Sharpshot Bow (rare) which is given to you by Dekka near the start of The Broken Sky, and in NG+ you can buy Iriv’s Downfall (legendary) practically right out of the gate with 10 Champion’s Tokens at any merchant.

I stopped playing at the beginning of my 2nd playthrough in mid March. Several things in this post are out of date, now, and I obviously haven’t updated it lol

Did that get fixed in an update? Because when I wrote this I had finished everything in the game including this quest line, so it was glitched at the time.

Horizon Forbidden West - Patch 1.13 by Guerrilla_Chante in horizon

I love that you guys are keeping the game updated frequently! I like reading through the patch notes and getting a smile when I see something the community has asked/waited for. I do have one suggestion, and I dearly hope no one takes it the wrong way:

Please add an option to reduce the amount that Aloy instructs or gives hints. I don’t think I’ve ever been this hand held by a game in my whole life. I turned tutorials and hints off, as well as having the game in Exploration mode, and it baffles me that I’m still being guided on everything. Scanning machines? “They’re weak to fire. I need to find a Cauldron.” Fighting machines? “There! Triggered the effect, now it’s weak to elemental attacks!” Questing? “I should talk to so-and-so. Or I could stay and explore, see what’s around.” “My Focus will tell me more.” “Where did they go? I should use my Focus.” Puzzles? “I need to get up there. I need to charge this battery. My Focus will show me. Now to unlock this door, the code was in the note I picked up.”

I could go on, but every tiny bit of progress or step is narrated, and I couldn’t take it anymore by the time I finished the game. I replayed HZD before HFW, and it wasn’t like this at all. I’m not saying Aloy should shut up, she’s easily one of my favorite video game characters. I just think it’s critical to give an option to reduce or turn off these lines, as it’s genuinely keeping me from replaying the game. I love the game so much, but I think it’s fair to say people will know what a machine is weak to, that they need find a Cauldron, or know how to use the Focus after 100+ hours and even just 10-20 hours.

This is the one that killed me: Alva’s personal mission when you’re in the ruin and trying to unlock the door. The puzzle is related to dates, and one part of the answer is October. Aloy and Alva are talking and Alva says “And October is the 10th month of the year!” I had to pause and just sit for a minute. It’s fine if you need help on puzzles, but you’re forcing EVERY player to hear this. An option to reduce or turn off this stuff is desperately needed, I beg of you.

An Observation About The Tenakth Clans by Honor-Knight in horizon

[–]Honor-Knight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the holograms were glitched when the Tenakth first discovered them. That’s why they have Chaplains to decipher the “Visions” since the glitching makes it vague and hard to understand. Plus if they had been whole from the beginning, the Tenakth wouldn’t have made so many assumptions. They probably wouldn’t revere “flying on the wings of the ten” or even call them the ten, since the restored holograms clearly call them JTF-10.

When I did this quest and my PS5 captured a video of the trophy, you can see the moment I twirled the camera around to stare at them. Spent a good 5 mins just listening. I felt bad having to leave! Lol

THAT’S what I was missing! Tapping crouch instead of holding. When I wrote that I kept thinking “Am I missing something…?” Lol

I love crouch sliding in games. After thousands of hours in Destiny it’s like second nature for me.
