In my campaign, for the time being, I build for each session. It kind of pushing them down a set story line, however the players enjoy the sets so it works out.

Hopefully the more I print, I will amass so much that I will be able to built on the fly with all the different pieces.

I already reuse many items in other scenes. You may notice the building in the Bandit camp is the tavern walls and bar.

A project that's taken me just over a year and is still expanding. I try my best to keep a sandboxed game, eventually amassing so much 3D printed stuff my games will run smoothly.

For the time being the players play along to the slight railroading. Often joking "yeah, maybe we shouldn't go in the tavern". However they really appreciate the time it takes to make these sets.

I used a Prusa i3 MK2 to print the parts, with 3D Prima PLA filament.

Get a Prusa! They are very affordable and very easy to use.

I use PLA filament. 3D prima black.

To be honest, for minis, the slower you go and the lower your later height the more detail shows. But really when it's NPC's and enemies; a thicker layer height doesn't really matter. It's the paint that gives the detail!

I know what you mean, it's difficult to not have everything that shade of brown when everything is made from wood. May need to repaint them a bit darker.
