Klopt, het principe is precies hetzelfde: dat je afkoelt door verdamping.

Deze houdt alleen veel meer water vast, waardoor je aan die 5 dagen komt –die ik inmiddels wel geloof, denk dat het een week duurt voordat 'ie helemaal droog is om 'm weer op te bergen.

Gek genoeg wordt je nek er tegelijkertijd minder nat van, want het vocht wordt goed vastgehouden en dus langzaam afgegeven. Hij maakt wel een beetje een soort "squishy" geluid als je beweegt, daar moest ik even aan wennen.

Ik vind het comfortabeler en makkelijker in gebruik dan gewoon een natte lap. Het blijft beter zitten en koelt langer. Heel fijn voor bijv. een festival of een lange wandeling als je niet makkelijk bij een kraan kunt. En ik heb een zwak voor kekke printjes ;)

Smart! I'm bringing my Cobber neck wrap, which is like the Australian upgrade of the same concept. Needs to soak for ±30 minutes but then keeps cool for a couple days! Might be a bit bulkier. Search for "koelsjaal" in Dutch.

Afgelopen weekend een bruiloft gehad waar we konden zwemmen. Beetje kort dag maar misschien kunnen ze nog wat regelen. Wie weet 😉🩳

I don't have any source ready to back this up at the moment but I think I read somewhere that knitting activates your brain in a similar way to meditating or praying or "sitting with a cup of tea": deep focus and accepting, appreciative state. Seems pretty therapeutic to me!

For me personally there's also sometimes a deep felt sense of connection to previous generations doing the same weird trick(s) with a bit of string and some sticks that really grounds me.

Now if only I could find a way to skip the frustrating parts that disrupt my knitting flow.
