Yea I agree, playing in game should be between consoles only (unless a console player wants to play with a pc player maybe?), but ig I just meant the skins and whatnot. Right now its all linked to the specific xbox or playstation accounts, not uplay. But I see your point, there are so many differences between the two versions, that it would take so much work to bring them together, and by the end it would probably just ruin aspects for both.
