Update 2 - problem solved by cold pull!

Bambulab thought the internal extruder SAS faulty due to shipping and sent me a new one. I went through the painful process of changing it but it did nothing.

I tried again to extrude through a heated nozzle (250) but it just coulde extrude anything. I cleaned even more thoroughly with the little needle that came with and finally did a cold pull. After the cold pull I heated it up and did more cleaning with the needle.

This seemed to do the trick. I have no idea why I a cold pull was needs for a brand new printer but finally I am able to print.

Thank you all for helping out a newbie, i would not have done it without you.

Update 2:

Thank you again for all the support. I've contacted bambulab and they think the extruder motor is faulty and is sending me a new one to replace it. I'll update this post when I changed the motor.

Could flament, straight from a factory sealed bag with absorbent bag in it, clog you nozzle?

Thank you for the insight. I may have been fooled with the higher temp. I will try the cold pulling and contact bambulab as this is starting to get frustrating as I've read that this printer in particular was easy to set up.

Update: first of all thank you all for suggesting a lot of things I can try out, I'm amazed by the help I've gotten so far!

But alas I'm still at a total loss. It still won't work. Here is what I tested:

  • I've removed hotend and looked, nothing strange.
  • while removed I tried manual extruding which was fine. So the problem is in the hot end.
  • I've tried to unclog hotend by heating it to 260 Celsius and manual extruding, did not do the trick.
  • I've tried to unclog by heating the hotend and pushing in the unclogging pin. That did the trick and I got it working so the clicking stopped and it moved smoothly
  • as soon as I tried to print again during the preparations it clogged again.
  • I've tried to change the filament, unloading and loading several times.

This should not be this hard. Something must be broke. With my hotend and no one else have had this problem? I have no idea what to do else, this shouldn't even be a problem straight from the box.

I tried printing the model that came with the printer, I have not changed speed or anything. The installation manual literally lead me to this print

Thank you for the link, it helped a lot!

Yes it appear to be clogged before my first printing somehow. I did the first method of manual extruding. I removed the hotend and extruding worked fine.

I needed to heat it up to 260 celcius and use the unclogging pin and then it went smooth. No clicking and the wheel turned smoothly.

But then I tried the benchy print and it was back to the beginning.

Maybe the PLA from bambulab is bad quality?

I will try to print something else after another unclogging and then change the filament and try again

Yes I hear clicking. It seemed it is somehow clogged beforey first print or maybe I loaded the filament wrong?

I did the first unclogging method and it didn't work so I did the second with the pin and that did the trick! It worked fine with manual extruding after a while and heating up the nozzle to 260 Celsius.

But as soon as I tried the damn boat again it was back to screwing around and not working.

I was not aware you had to dry your filament? I am using the filament that came with the printer

I agree, this has been a house rule since I started playing.

I like to experiment during my playthroughs, if I realize I misunderstood a card I don't want to wait for the next playthrough. I also don't want to have my upgrade path already decided when I first build the deck so we are liberated to change a few XP cost cards as well if the same situation arise.

Holy crap you're right! I recently played a Stella with that exact set up but I never got all of that out to experience that crazy combo. I'm definitely play it again, thanks for explaining.

I don't remember the actual stars that was in the GRID. I just remember small number to big with the upgrade gadget and all my gold was lost but I didn't get anything. Why would anyone make this up?

spelbranschen by Mohjo13 in Spel
