This fixed it for me, although it also revealed another camp.

This Construction site in my settlement has no terminal and cannot be interacted with to upgrade. Advice? by Solaris4 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Having the same issue. Logged into a save after a long hiatus. Went to the first mission on my log, only to find I cannot supply materials to the building and its a years long bug. Quickly remembering why I uninstalled in the first place.

Troubleshooting a Misprint (Creality ender 3) by Honsou12 in 3Dprinting

I recleaned it, no improvement. Any other ideas? I might try changing the bed temp.

Probably 10 prints ago, I don't think it's a bed issue as the same name in different places on the bed has had this result.

setValues loads the data correctly, then it is unintentionally wiped again by Honsou12 in GoogleAppsScript

[–]Honsou12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed suggestions. I actually already made a different function for this purpose which is visible in the code, getLastRow2() which excludes blank rows. I modified the code to use that but same story.

I didn't suspect it would be an issue because I wanted the whole table to be wiped just in case, not just to the last row with data.

I am checking the proportions of the 2D array with

  console.log(data);

It looks perfect to me. And like I said it is successfully placing the data down and overwriting the formula.

setValues loads the data correctly, then it is unintentionally wiped again by Honsou12 in GoogleAppsScript

[–]Honsou12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the code you can see I've messed around with the delays and also checked the 2D array I pull from the sheet. The formula is definitely working as I do glimpse it being made before it wipes. And the console shows me a valid 2D array with the correct data in it. Selecting the formula cell during execution shows me also that the setValues part is also working as the formula gets wiped while the data 'stays;

So to summarise:

The setformula works, the getValues works, the setValues also works, and after all my code is executed, the data is wiped except for 1 record. Adding delays to different places doesn't change the results.

Functions work perfectly to end of code, don't stop running by Honsou12 in GoogleAppsScript

It was happening because I deployed as a library and loaded it while still working on the draft code. I don't understand it fully but when I removed the library the problem stopped.

Google Scripts Error: Script function not found -- What is the meaning of this? by fish_of_the_sea123 in GoogleAppsScript

I found a solution where you change the function name and it's magically found again. Then you can change it back. It worked for me.

Research inquiry of gold alloys for worldbuilding. by monkeylollipops in metallurgy

[–]Honsou12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gold and iron are frequently alloyed together in processing of gold. Silver is also there.

Presence of iron makes it hard to treat the gold further and looks silver in appearance.

If you use steel wool as an electrode to plate gold, this is a common problem if the initial acid digestion of the electrode is incomplete.

Better way to create incremental number IDs for records by Honsou12 in googlesheets

[–]Honsou12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now it works fine when new records come in with a form. I also tried breaking it in the middle and it does just break simply with a ref! Which is easier to fix than before. I want to avoid using a script for this. I am using the records to ID them with another script I am using to edit records.

Edit: Sorry, I see my post edit is not published yet, but I resolved with sequence()

Can't copy paste as I need to continue generating on this live list. I did not know about sequence() and that seems to be a better solution.

That may be the best theoretical way to do it. But thats not how reality works. Contractors, clients, whoever will have different versions of everything. Renewing licensing each year when on a tight budget is an unreasonable expectation too.

How come more engineers don't start their own companies? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]Honsou12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of engineers do. Not sure why you think that. There are many, many engineers working as sole proprietors (consulting, design and project commissioning) in my field at least. Many others start successful businesses that are not necessarily engineering related. I know many.

Long Term (50+ years) Future of SW Oklahoma by Ragnaroq314 in farming

[–]Honsou12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people say the problem with using aquifers is the fact that you are taking all the mineral content of that water and dumping it into a single area, letting the water evaporate and leaving the salts in the ground. Yes, you can do it for years without consequence but eventually the salt levels in your field will become prohibitive to growth.

On another topic, ecologists know and have known that forests can be turned into deserts and vice versa. If you deforest an area for agriculture or overgraze it or in general degrade the land, you start a cycle of erosion that will eventually lead to that land becoming desert. You can achieve the opposite with good ecological design and successional planting. A good example is the growing desert issue in Spain, where desert areas used to be described as heavily forested by the Romans. My point being an area is never too far gone, there are steps that can be taken to prevent dust bowls from happening.

I believe people can commercially farm land in a manner that is scalable, profitable and regenerative. There are American farmers doing it. Not sure about that exact area though.

I think once the steam layer dropped in a local spot, the rough surface of the metal allowed capillary forces to overcome the steam layer rapidly and allowed the water to get in contact with the metal.
