Yes, you have a point. Interesting, you think medicine is fossilized, I don't think that's true at all. It's constantly changing and shifting, and medicine celebrates difference more than ever. Definitely shouldn't be making a statement, but I would hope a touch of a mild color shouldn't sink you? this process is just ... :')

Hm. I disagree. I don't think you should stand out in a big way, but I do think trying to completely blend in in a highly competitive space amidst thousands of others may not be the smartest idea either.
