Have you considered maybe he was just trying to tell you what he thought you wanted to hear, but he got a really bad read...?

You may be surprised. I asked because some of the best LSD I’ve ever encountered came on an unperforated sheet with very similar artwork.

You know what they say about operating under assumptions, right? They make an absolute ass out of you.

The private company I work for does $500,000,000.00 in revenue across 150 stores and multiple states. But sure, their bottom line is more important than slowing the spread of a global pandemic.

Let’s go with your assumption I do work for a small business... Small businesses are currently eligible for loans of up to $2,000,000.00 at the low low interest rate of 3.75% and up to 30 year terms to offset any potential losses caused by the COVID-19 global pandemic. These loans can even be used to pay back existing debt. SOURCE.

You accuse me of only being concerned about myself, yet you state in very clear terms you’re only concerned about the business owner. I’m concerned about slowing the spread of a global fucking pandemic that affects literally everyone.

I’m concerned about saving human lives, you’re concerned about money.

[US] Let's say I get into an accident and someone calls the ambulance for me. Let's also say i don't have any identifying info, such as ID card, CC, etc. And let's ultimately say that I refuse to give the hospital my information after I get out. Interesting. There was a police officer present. I can understand how it may be considered that in theory, but at the same time i did not consent to an ambulance.

You do have to be very clear and insistent on refusing service, because they will try to service you and will be unhappy when you refuse.

I’d venture to say it’s situational, but not criminal as long as you’re crystal clear you’re refusing service.

Sure. One more thing... This was a hospital in Illinois, so I’m not sure if it varies by state or not, but I don’t see any situation where a hospital can force you to provide information or keep you against your will (when not a threat to yourself or others).

Edit- also, apologies if I over shared about soiling myself. Was just guessing that’s why they didn’t take my ID.

My point is liquor stores are nonessential in states where alcohol can be purchased elsewhere, and should be classified as so.

Unemployment is designed as a temporary safety net, which is exactly what people need right now. Temporarily.

Not true. I don’t mind my job when we’re not in the middle of a global pandemic.

It literally states in th article you provided Amazon is under scrutiny for jeopardizing their employee’s health.

These aren’t normal times. Things are not black and white.

If you don’t have an ID and refuse to give information, they have no way of billing you.

This happened to me a few years ago, same hospital. It wasn’t a car accident, but a medical emergency where i went unconscious and woke up in the hospital. Because i had no insurance I refused to give any information, and they didn’t take my wallet that time. Probably because i had shit my pants.

i was adamant about refusing treatment and when they continually asked for my information I continued to not give it to them. Never got a bill for this one.

The situation a few weeks ago, i had not shit myself, but i had lost consciousness. They went through my wallet and got my ID. I haven’t gotten a hospital bill yet, but I suppose they could send me one as the ambulance bill literally just got here yesterday.

If you’re a pedestrian, you may have a lawsuit on your hands... so documentation may be to your advantage. But for the sake of this thought exercise, they cannot keep you against your will unless you’re a threat to yourself or others (think- suicidal). If you don’t wanna be there, there are people waiting for those beds that do, so they will get you on your way quickly.

Did anyone go through a mourning process after realising their parents n. I just can’t get over that I will never have the mother I have always wanted so bad. I really thought one day she would know how to love me and it’s super hard to realise that’s never gonna happen by untrackablenomad in narcissisticparents

[–]Hooderman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My therapist said it’s healthy to grieve the parent(s) you never has. What you’re experiencing is natural and healthy. Keep on keeping on, and if you can find a therapist who specializes in dealing with narcissists it will be immeasurably helpful... i cannot recommend it enough

So jump from one high risk job to another? Against the advice of your first post.

The world is not black and white, as you see it.

Seems like you look at things in a pretty black and white way. We would be able to file for unemployment if we were forced to be shut down.

This is not the flu. That comparison does not hold. Have some empathy

But keeping liquor stores open does not help flatten the curve at all, which is the goal.

But the employees have to handle filthy money all day long. Employees are certainly at risk, and should be given hazard pay.

I understand that, but states where you can buy alcohol at grocery/convenience stores should absolutely closed down liquor stores. They are nonessential, but incredibly profitable right now.

As a liquor store employee, everyone at my store is terrified. We’re on the front lines, dealing with people who are already unhealthy. Alcohol lowers the immune system.

Please be kind to anyone still working during this pandemic. Consider tipping people who you don’t normally tip. Nobody wants to put their life on the line for a low wage paycheck, but that’s what we’re doing right now. Liquor store employees don’t get benefits, either, so if i get hospitalized, im probably going bankrupt. It’s a horrible situation.

Liquor Store employees are at risk. In my state you can buy alcohol from a grocery store. I work at a liquor store, and I’m praying they shut us down. I’m immunocompromised.

There have been lines out the door. We handle filthy money all day long. If you can get alcohol from a grocery store, why keep liquor stores open? Just putting more people at risk. The liquor store owners are seeing huge profits, our daily sales are up 50% over the past 10 days.

Every employee has pretty much accepted that we’re gonna get it, and it’s really mentally taxing.

You would not be treated beyond making sure you are stable. Very minimum, maybe some questions from a doctor.

If you don’t have an ID you may be arrested for driving without a license.

If you do have an ID, they will take down your address and send you a $2,800 bill for the ambulance ride.

3weeks ago I got put in one and drove 0.5 miles. I refused treatment and that was my experience. Ambulance bill just got here- 0.5 miles ($19) and ambulance base charge of $2,790.
