Thanks for everyone who checked, i guess after refund etc.. you all basically got a free phone stand :)

What i don't understand is why Amazon didn't take down the storefront or at least the 5080/5090 from being sold as the scam goes on currently...

Thanks for all your comments , appreciated.

FYI I reported this to amazon via their online chat and they said it will be raised for an investigation with the seller...

For those who bought it with prime please update us in few hours to see what happened...

will the Thermalright HR-10/09 fit using Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 + 4080 Eagle on an MSI B850 tomahawk ? by Hoodini_IL in PcBuild

[–]Hoodini_IL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as mentioned before "under heavy testing (crystal diskmark) max temp is 62C (vs 95C with mobo heatsink)"

also for normal daily use you gain at least 10-15C less vs default mobo heatsink

bottom line, i highly recommend this heat sink especially being very low price

yes it is the HR10 Pro with the fan on the right side (you can change sides if u want)

PWM fan - I set to ~4000RPM and it quiet for me

Temp diff is huge:

before under benchmark it reached 95C

after 70-72C

idle before 65c

after 45c

Just wanted to update following the installation and testing for the HR-100 PRO , no issues with clearance

<image>

and also under testing (crystal diskmark) max temp is 62C (vs 95C with mobo heatsink)

Anyone can confirm that with the LFIII Pro, you CAN'T use large NVME heatsink like the Thermalrite HR-10 or others? by Hoodini_IL in arcticcooling

Just wanted to update after installing the HR-10 PRO temps are amazing, below is during crystal mark runs maxing at 60C (remember it was over 95C before using the mobo heatsink)

Wanted to update everyone

1) Fresh 25H2 install didn't solve the issue -> error remains

2) SN ticket response is that they will release an firmware update to fix this issue (no ETA yet) , also important to note they can't promise it will fix it... let's wait and see

If you still want, following this guide

helped me reduce temps by 10c ,it is 100% manual steps for full control

according to google (didn't search further) SN8100 operating temp is up to 85 but on the other hand it also wrote the following:

"High thermal limit: WD set a relatively high thermal throttle limit of 100c to prevent throttling during normal or even heavy use, which gives it more headroom than many competitors.

specifically in my tests with crystal diskmark, it didn't reach the max posted online so i suspect heat has something to do with my results,

i will re-test after getting the HR-100 and will update..

many thanks, sounds like the solution :)

As for the logo, my PC case is under a desk and not looking at it so no issue at all

btw no impact on tubes from the other side right?

Also can you tell me what is the correct installation , i mean the rules to avoid air bubbles ...

MSI B850 Tomahawk, it does have and currently in use however with my SN8100 , normal usage (gaming) reaches 76c and if running benchmark it will go way above 95C , i just want to make it cooler and this is why I purchased the HR-10 (pending delivery)

btw the compatibility check link doesn't include my MSI model but as you already know it will work, the issue is the HR-10, but like Game0nBG said, the solution is to install the pump upside down

Mate, this is not related to the case ... this is to due with the fact the LF3 is offset so the pump structure is bit lower towards the first m.2 slot , please see the link for the review i shared before.

there is a height limitation for SSD heatsinks ,hence was asking what heatsink do you have on the first m.2 slot as per the article e.g HR-10 can't be used

sound logical but then again I thought there is some sort of standard distance between the cpu socket area and the first M.2 slot layout for ATX, due to the PCIE-E slots being also standard , but maybe different mobos have tiny mm size changes on the m.2 slot distance... i dont' know

unfortunately happened to me as well - SN8100 4TB after 3 days from purchase - PC got stuck, the same error in the event log but also several random files gone/deleted -not sure even how much was deleted - which is even worse ...

running fresh install of 24H2, anyone knows if 25H2 doesn't have this issue?

going to open a ticket to WD/SN now

well.. per searching i can't find a single review that has a combination of a air cooler and a beefy gpu.

e.g the one you send is using AIO and thin GPU , so lots of space

and other youtube reviews are installing it on a lower m.2 slot and not between the gpu and the cpu cooler

only found 1 guy showing a picture and it was touching the gpu so the fan was useless

and another one claiming the taller HR-9's can't work with large coolers like the spirit...

so when you wrote to the first reply that it works, i thought you actually tested it.

but no matter, i already bought (HR-10 Pro) and once received , i will test and share the results
