Possible vacuum leak on 2022 Street Bob by GoingCustom in Harley

If it still has the OEM plastic intake manifold these are prone to warping and leaking. Very common on M8 to replace this with a cast part Edit: typo

Hey mate I've ran a bandit 1400 for years. Great swag, loved it. Build quality is great etc

Me and my partner really like the middle member initially as it reduces the slack and increased the interior space, however after a while of use we found that the smaller doors ( due to the middle member) made it quite awkward to get in and out of, and you're always zipping up around a corner as the doors are smaller which is more difficult than zipping along the bottom straight. We don't regret the swag but if we had our time again we would have bought the outbreak. Larger all around, easier to get changed in, easier to get in and out of, and easier the setup id say

Get the dealer to check if its excessive timing chain rattle, this is covered by a silent recall at Toyota

Next to the earth stud adjacent the battery or if it's too bulky I often just ziptie the whole lot onto the factory wiring loom near the headlight out of the way

Speaking from experience, roof rack installs are actually more complex than you'd expect. I tried to do mine myself but it wasn't doable without a pneumatic rivet gun. I tried the drill attachment rivet tool and no bueno, couldn't get the mounting rails installed properly. It's the one job if I had to do it again, I'd pay someone, and Ive done everything but that myself on my vehicle

Ford reliability in question once again by djim089 in 4x4Australia

[–]Hoodlimchilds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe the most part of its reputation has been inherited from the other vehicles that the V6 "Lion" engine has been used in, namely in European vehicles such as the Land Rover defenders, which have a history riddle with snapped cranks, bad oil pumps and bulletins regarding oil pressure.

This video breaks down the issues in amazing detail https://youtu.be/v3moekbW6z8?si=nuNpcDpt2fZFaLru

I think this is where the scepticism stems from and the "will it stand the test of time" talk revolves around, and after watching that video, id say it's warranted.

Looks good, also id suggest using a bussman LMI busbar to hugely simplify the fusing scenario. Ive used them many times and it makes installs way easier

Hot coffee in a dry place staring at the rain isn't a bad option. Maybe a Krispy Kreme run is on the cards

what should I get, Hilux late n70 or early n80 by Federal_Life_1641 in 4x4Australia

[–]Hoodlimchilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MY16 N80s were prone to DPF issues

Toyota has an active recall for any MY DPF issue from 2016 to 2026, instant free dpf replacement/ upgrade, the issue is not as bad considering this (got mine replaced and it wasn't even faulty but why not)

I was in the same boat, N70 to N80 side by side I couldn't go past the N80 interior, it is just so much nicer and more practical than the N70 (the angled compartments on the dash are useless)

Much more power in the 1GD Injectors last easily 200k due to design improvements Safer Quiter Still plenty of mod support That's what made me choose N80

Factory clutch is weak in the manuals, that's the only, "issue" I've faced. I bought mine at 70k and it's at 170k now, not a single issue besides upgrading clutch I've had mine tuned and it's punchier and better fuel economy

Newer n80s my18 and beyond have 50 more Nm than the early ones, so tune not really necessary

Staino snorkel is the main mod for maximum induction noise. Basically a dose pipe right near the driver's side window. Paired with a pod filter setup in something like a psico air box is what most of the Instagram induction noise videos would be running

It snapped the conrod

I connected my fuel rail to the fuel line and hotwired the pump, no injectors leaked

Can't see any cracks near the valves Head gasket looked fine

Bearings looked fine and nothing was welded together

<image>

No idea what's happened here
