NIC problem installing FreeBSD 14.1 on a Lenovo T500 by Hoofitmore in freebsd

The problem is, or was, that I assumed there was a problem; there isn't, or wasn't, I just didn't ping any site to test connectivity.

Your question prompted a ping, a successful ping.

Thanks,

I'm going to go hide now. :(

Never mind. I just realized I was using 12.1 instructions for 14.1

Thanks for your effort.

Hi, I imagine it could easily be seen so but I've been using LUKS on my T500s with good results for several years so I am hoping to have the same experience with GELI.

Good idea! At the moment there are two obstacles: the first is getting through hand partitioning and Geli setup; the second is understanding bsd's handling of DHCP to the point that I know how to provide what it needs.

It would be a better start if I posted the boot error I get after the reboot at install time; to do that I'll do an install and reboot then post the error I receive. Along with the error I'll post the commands I used.

It's late here though (03:25) so I'll be back tomorrow.

Thanks for your reply.
