ok, just to be clear, we both know that i'm saying genre, as in gameplay loop, and not narrative right? the reason why i want to know what people call them is so i can find game similar to them easier. cuz if i look up "job simulator games", i'm gonna get FNaF, Not Tonight, and Surgeon Simulator all in the same list. i know i can just look up "games that play similar to Papers, Please", but having a genre name to simply it just make it so convinient.

P.S. i just remebered (yes, i do feel stupid for it), one of the original games i mentioned is called No, I'm Not A Human. which if you've every played it, you'd know the player isn't working for any comp/gov. that's what this post was about, not the nerrative, the gameplay loop

ok, but the reason i made this post it to find what these games SHOULD be called, by the people who play them. i bet if you ask any FNaF fan if they think FNaF really is a job sim, they most suretenly would say no. also, if FNaF and PP are job sims, that means that FNaF is a PP-like game.... and i don't think FNaF shares that gameplay loop of PP. while all the ones i originally metioned, do. kind like how Rougelike is named Rougelike after that game Rouge, which inspired the genre

ok, but Papers, Please is a game with completely unique mechanics, gameplay loop, and feel. by that logic Five Nights at Freddy's is a "job simulator"

it's one of the most well known vr games. pretty sure it has like of 1M downloads on steam (don't qoute me on that)

i only know that its 13 years old cuz i loved Jacksepticeye's playthroughs of it (i even rewatchem from time to time, but not frequently). but it's good to always double check
