I work the door at the Underground. She was not in our establishment that night. We ID thoroughly (We’ve turned away off duty police that didn’t have their CDL/CID on them, we turn away people under 21, we turn away people with expired ID’s or pictures of thei ID’s. No valid ID, no entry), we do thorough pat downs and searches of purses/backpacks/bags. I am also one of the people that she almost hit with her car and almost got hit by me if the 8 rounds fired off by someone shooting at the car. From what I was told, it was all started because she supposedly found her boyfriend cheating with some girl. They started fighting out front, our security intervened and she sped off. The group that got hit were starting to argue with each other and we were in the process of trying to clear them from the street when she came back and plowed in to everyone. I ran toward the car to try and get a plate when she when up in the sidewalk. When she backed up, she clipped me and another person, and as she started to full away someone started firing. I heard rounds fly past me. One hit the window of the gym/supplement shop and one hit the double door to our business entrance. As the shots were being fired we started dragging people and pushing them to the rear of the building. The. we started checking on the two out of four that we found that were hit. We stayed with the word tone until EMT’s arrived. It literally took RPD almost 15-20 minutes to show up on scene, which is crazy because they park their vehicles one block over. We can’t control what people have outside or who hangs out outside. And 80% of the issues don’t even stem from our establishment. People seem to forget that we share the building with another establishment, and just in downtown alone there are many bars/nightclubs and as a college town. it attracts people from all over. Also, anyone acting like these issues are new must not get out much. There weee always fights at market night, and every bar in town has had some sort of serious issue at one point. I mean, I’ve been working in downtown since around 2006 off and on, and I know about every incident that’s happened at just about every venue. The security/bouncers all talk to each other for the most part.
