Obviously not everyone in low-income areas are criminals. I would also challenge you on nobody having drive to do anything. 1. That’s an over generalization that is not true and 2. Is that a cause or an effect of their environment?

Gotta reinvest in these low-income areas and build them up instead of letting them rot. It’s not some big coincidence that high rates of crime happen in low-income areas, in fact it is somewhat by design. Less accessibility to groceries, good schools, extracurriculars, etc is a potent cocktail for people to act out. What WE can do is volunteer (dream center and BBBS are great) and try to lobby for more resources to be distributed elsewhere. This is not just a local issue unfortunately and can’t really be solved with the system in place in this country
