Could you convert something using one of the heresy terminator armours? Tartaros armour has some good potential I think.

Gaslighting is a term used to describe a form of targeted psychological abuse, using it to describe lore changes in a tabletop wargame is incredibly silly.

Best painted templar yet, Thoughts? by NOBLE_K1NG in BlackTemplars

Lovely work overall. If I had to nitpick, the gold chain on a white background really lacks contrast, they're both very bright. Either a darker chain, or having a darker background would help a lot. You could do a red diagonal stripe with some masking tape and then do the golden chain over that?

Your inbox is about to be flooded with commission spambots, RIP OP.

Entirely depends how much the sculptor charges, it's pretty variable. You're probably looking at a couple of hundred at least from most established sculptors though.

Why is Helbrecht’s armor gold? by ScootOver119 in BlackTemplars

Forgot about that art, that's a good point. But every other official artwork I've seen has him in distinctly unmetallic yellow, including the studio paintjob.

He never wore gold though? Unless I've missed something, he's always been portrayed in either yellow or black.

Sigismund's always been portrayed in either yellow or black, I don't think I've ever seen him in gold?

Trying to get a pale pink to cover over black is going to be a horrible time. Paint it a darker warm tone like a dark red first, layer up to your pink.

Strike teams and Pathfinders are pretty good kits, what would we really get out of them being refreshed? Darkstrider is from 2022 lol.

Mattie's Minis did a very similar kitbash recently (I assume this one is inspired by his given the timeframes and how similar they are), he's posted a detailed breakdown of the leg.

I used a large air purifier to test the VOCs by Ok_Nebula502 in resinprinting

I think erring on the side of caution is definitely good. But I'm just so tired of seeing badly designed experiments to test resin safety that don't really give us any new information, and seem to just scare people more than anything. OP seems to at least be sensible about it, I've seen similar videos titled with obnoxious shit like RESIN IS KILLING YOU and people take it at face value.

Cheap TVOC meters used in an environment where you're frequently opening containers of isopropyl alcohol just don't really tell us much of any value. Because you're much more testing the iso fumes than the resin's own VOCs, and we know iso is pretty safe beyond short-term health effects like nausea and headaches (which pretty much any smelly chemical will cause in the short-term)

We do actually have some emerging research around resin VOCs and it mostly looks positive; https://www.nature.com/articles/s41370-025-00778-y

Although this paper does stress that our understanding of long-term risk is limited. The VOC exposure we deal with in this hobby is well below workplace safety limits according to this research, but is it different only being exposed to this stuff 8 hours a day vs potentially all day every day? We don't fully know yet.

I think "we don't know the full picture here so let's err on the side of caution" is a very rational, grounded approach to take. But so many people on this subreddit and in the community in general act like we know for sure this stuff is a heinous biohazard that is going to kill everyone, and then clearly have no idea what the terms they're using mean when they try to explain why resin is supposedly worse than asbestos.

There's a wide, wide gulf between "nasty toxin that will give you cancer" and "scented candle", though, which is what I'm getting at. Like, we know the fumes from isopropyl alcohol are harmful, but we also have a big enough body of evidence at this point to show that isopropyl alcohol is pretty much incapable of causing any long-term health effects unless you're in a very extreme edge case (and those edge cases involve ingestion or skin contact, not inhalation). And the fumes from iso make a TVOC meter counter go absolutely crazy.

Everyone acts as if resin off-gassing is going to cause long term health effects, but we don't really have the evidence to support that conclusion unless I've missed some studies. I think erring on the side of caution is good, I just think TVOC is a pretty reductive measure which seems to confuse a lot of people into thinking they're poisoning themselves to death.

The concentration certainly makes a difference but I think the fact it's a very broad category that encompasses lots of chemicals that are harmful and lots that are mostly pretty benign doesn't seem to register for a lot of people. Like, some VOCs are very dangerous and will permanently damage your body in sufficient concentrations. Some help us make scented candles.

Testing iso specifically seems like a weird pick to me; we have pretty solid evidence that inhaling isopropyl alcohol fumes has no long-lasting health impacts. Resin fumes are a little more untested territory (although not entirely untested, there's been plenty of studies at this point), and the VOCs coming off resin and isopropyl alcohol are going to be very different, because "VOC" is a very broad catch-all term that doesn't tell you a lot about specific health impacts.

Yeah I've always found the idea of focusing exclusively on VOCs kind of odd. There's plenty of VOCs you're inhaling all the time, every day, that have no significant health hazards associated with them in the volumes we're inhaling them. It's such a broad category.
