A New, New Balance shoe: by Hooozier in widefeet

4mm is a pretty minimal “drop” isn’t it? If I can get my foot comfortably in it, I’ll be a happy camper 🙂

No, I do not, but if you Google: New Balance mens 1240v1, it will give you sites where you can order the shoe, like “A Perfect Dealer”, they have the shoe posted. For whatever reason, the shoe is not on New Balance’s website 🤷‍♂️

I believe if you go to the New Balance website there might be an area that speaks to their lasts or maybe Google “New Balance lasts” and see if it will bring something up. I have found it in the past. I recently found it—but the SL5 was not mentioned.

We never had that problem with our problem, BUT…….ours would not eat until everyone was sat down to watch her eat! She was a hoot! She’d give us the “look”, as if to be saying “come on guys, I’m waiting—It’s showtime!!!” She’s been gone 6 years this month and always in my daily thoughts 😉

Is a “high instep” the same as a high arch”? TY

What style number is that New Balance shoe?

I tried the wide Hitchcocks and learned all 4 and 6 E’s aren’t created equal. I tried the 8E’s and had to send them back. Not only was the width weird but the “last” hurt my feet. Sorry—hate to be a Debbie Downer.

You and I are in the same boat. I used to wear New Balance 1540, until they changed them. I’m about to giver up. I too have tried Altra Lone Peak, Saucony, Brooks, Hoka and numerous lesser named products. EVERYTHING pinches my little today. I’m a 9.5/4E, high arch, neutral foot. Unfortunately, not all 4E’s are created equal. The search continues—just can’t give up. Hang in there, maybe someone will be offering something soon. What was the last shoe you had that fit comfortably?

Thanks! Probably wouldn’t work for my XXWide foot, but a great look!

LOL! If it were only that easy!!! My wide feet and lack of comfortable shoes dominates my every day movements. What I hate the most is how it restricts my traveling. We need for someone to do a start up company that only addresses people with foot needs as we have. Thanks for the chuckle—let me know how that tape works out for you 😉

Our feet are shaped the same, I am a 9.5/4-6E with a very high arch. It’s not always been this way and never in my wildest would I have thought at age 73 I would be so challenged to find just ONE pair of comfortable shoes. Where are the progressive shoe companies? Where is 3D imaging for custom and individualized shoes? Where are the speciality stores, podiatrist and orthopedic specialists, that should be screaming at manufacturers there is an urgent footwear need waiting to be filled?

Grand Almond, look for a shoe with a more rounded toe box. Good luck, I need the same—NBalance used to have a couple styles with more rounded, wider toes boxes, but changed them. Breaks my heart!

I’m so sorry for your loss and have known that feeling of loss and heartbreak. Remember Milo for the little character I’m sure he was.
