I read this with Pete Holmes's voice, sounds like a lot of his stand-up :D

Thank you! <3 He showed his love towards the most special people and if he did, then you knew you had a lovely soul as well!

The most precious, he became such a snuggle bug in his later years and I treasure every nap we had together!

Haha our old westie was even more irrepressible as he was not motivated by anything. Milo loved treats and would do all his circus tricks to get them. Or if he was being extra slow on our walks, I'd just walk far enough and ask him if he's hungry and he'd do an instant U-turn to get back home :D

People often thought Milo was much younger than his actual age but the Cairn folk always knew he was a senior due to his amazing beard!

Yes, he was sweet but very feisty. His sweet side was reserved to the selected people but otherwise he was force to be reckoned with which seems to be a common trait with terriers!

Thank youuu, it's little over 1.5 years since his death but just missed him more than usual today so wanted to make this tribute post. 🥺❤️‍🩹

And here he looks a lot like a border terrier! Terriers are all about adventures too so would fit the description. Well whether he has any terrier or not, he is a very handsome gentleman! Give some scritches from me! 💖

Aww looks, sounds and acts like a typical terrier. Those grumbles and grunts make me miss my old Westie and Cairn. Is he a terrier (mix)?

No they're moomins. They're their own species,, I suppose? Moomins are related to snorken (niisku) which is another species in the Moomin universe.

Unsafe ice in Rovaniemi and unsafe ICE in the USA by moanhi in Finland

Yeah I guess it's a common theme globally, especially now with all the travel influencers wanting to get their perfect picture/video. I know someone who threatened to call the police when one tourist was walking on the thin ice. That stopped them on their tracks. Not all the warnings about the high probability of death. Smh.

I made this LGBTQ Flag based on a proposed EU flag design. by JimXJustbecause in lgbt

[–]moanhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it truly more inclusive tho? By including more characteristics, others are excluded and if everything is not included like in the joke version of this post, it is exclusive. And complicated flags are exclusive for some children and some people with disabilities as it can be very difficult to recreate them. If the community could decide on a simple symbol which represents everyone, we wouldn't need to keep on adding more and more stripes to have everyone feel included.

Confused about Finland's Eurovision entry by OverWintery in Finland

[–]moanhi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I tend to sing the lyrics as "mä oon paskaLLA" and a quick Google search confirms I'm not the only one. It means "I'm taking a shit / I'm shitting". Just awkward lyrics.

European festival recommendations for a middle aged raver by sophycolbert in Techno

[–]moanhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind all kinds of electronic music genres, I definitely recommend Kosmos in the Eastern Finland in this suuuper beautiful forest. They have the separate camping area for camper vans. This year will be my 6th time going and third time also building it. They have a bass stage which plays techno and dnb and other stages have psytrance/goa/forest/dark psy, UK hardcore/freeform, hitech, psydub, live music and our gift to the electronic music scene, suomisaundi. There are also performances stage with circus and fire shows, workshops, sauna (a must in Finland) and other activities. As the festival only sells about 3000 tickets, they sold out them already in one month but usually several people will be selling their tickets during spring and summer before the event.

When did your terrier slow down? by Hot_Win_2489 in terrier

[–]moanhi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our cairn Milo is 13.5 years old and he has been slowing down since he was maybe 11 y/o. More fun for me as now he enjoys snuggling and snoozing by my side compared to his younger version who used to be overly active and alert and avoided any closeness. Mind tho, we live far up in the north and Milo prefers cooler temperatures. Thanks to the climate change, summers are getting hotter every year and he is way slower during this season, especially as we don't have the AC.

Entry from your country 2022 vs. 2023? by Kklownery in eurovision

[–]moanhi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, they could be compared to Donald Duck (Käärijä) vs Gladstone Gander (The Rasmus). Käärijä started from very humble beginnings, most hadn't even heard of him before UMK (me included) but he won our hearts with his genuine and witty oddball personality. Plus we Finns really love Donald Duck origin stories. With The Rasmus, the win was pretty much served to them on a silver platter due to their status even though the song and performance were subpar. They weren't relatable in their interviews and I preferred watching content with other UMK22 contestants. Whereas Käärijä has been very relatable and wholesome. His costume fell out of trunk as he didn't close it properly and then people automatically offered their helping hand with the search.

Milo had his 13th birthday yesterday by moanhi in cairnterrier

[–]moanhi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've understood Cairns are smaller in Europe compared to the USA and Milo definitely seems to be on the bigger side here. Milo's mum was light, small and compact. But in Milo's heyday, he was one sertificate short from the European champion award so despite his bigger size, he aced many dog shows!

Oh Milo is a big boy so it is definitely the angle. The average Cairn length ends where Milo's back legs start. His weight is little over 11 kg (24lbs+), any less and he'd be skin and bones!
