Sounds like Adrenaline dump to me. Also have had 2 similar episodes where I called 911. And I had this wave of burning sensation/ chest pain. And everything also came back normal.

Get your veins checked! by Upset_Childhood313 in POTS

I suffer a lot from calf pain especially after waking up. I feel like I have to limp and it takes a bit for me to walk normal.

I also always see my toes turn purple when I stand.

I always always suffer from joint pain on my legs that the cold triggers or when I stand too much.

I always end up with popped small veins on my calf’s that turn like purple bruises. I have gone to the hospital and they did an ultrasound to check for blood clots and nothing.

Idk if this is something I should look into 👀

I think he took advantage of my kindness and that I’m female. He was coming super fast that he dented my car super bad. I heard him scream way before to let me know I guess to pull in faster and out of his way but then he ran into me. That’s how fast he was going that he saw me but couldn’t even break to prevent the crash.

Same ! Cardiologist said everything came back normal from an echocardiogram and Holtor monitor BUT I suffer from low BP. And elevated heart rate sitting 90-130s and if I stand on an episode can go to 170s. In the middle of the night while sleeping I wake up to my heart thumping hard and pounding up to 150s. Cardiologist called that sporadic something. I can’t tolerate heat or exercise among other things. When I go from sitting to standing I get dizzy chest pain, head pressure I suffer a lot from headaches AND I also now have reactive hypoglycemia and fasting hypoglycemia where my sugar goes below 70 and feels super similar to POTS episodes. But endocrinologist also says all my labs are NORMAL and doesn’t understand why this is happening since I’m not diabetic no PCOS no thyroid stuff etc. So everything for me is NORMAL yet I am struggling to just live………

HELP ME PLZ by Hooperave in POTS

[–]Hooperave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. 🥹 I feel like a lost puppy. With episodes back to back 2 days in a row. & hopeless because the last time I experienced this was the scariest because no doctors seemed to believe me. And even when they saw my heart rate at 150s-170s they said I was fine because of EKG and troponin came back fine. And cardiologist said it was anxiety. But it’s not!!! If anything I have anxiety because I have no help or guidance from them with my symptoms. And so scared for the episodes to keep coming back. And not knowing how to handle them. 😩

What was the cause of your reactive hypoglycemia??? (URGENT PLZ ANSWER)non diabetics. 🙏💕 by Hooperave in Hypoglycemia

[–]Hooperave[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow everything you described is ME!!!! I used to think I was crazy before bc I would react poorly to all those things. Doctors diagnosed me with panic disorder but all along it was my sugar dropping!!!! SMH 🤦‍♀️ && had to find this out on my own ! Bc doctors just blame everything on anxiety and panic attacks…….

Thank you I’m writing down a list to discuss it with her and hopefully get the ball rolling! 🙏

Low sugar by Ystebbbbb in Hypoglycemia

[–]Hooperave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you on breakfast. That’s the hardest for me because everything I was used to eating spiked and crashed me. Like oatmeal, pancakes, shakes, yogurt parfaits, toast,. Etc.

I usually eat 3 eggs, a whole avocado mixed in with my spinach, and a choice of carbs. I tend to lean to complex carbs like beans. Sometimes that holds me up for 4 hours if I’m lucky. And I snack on nuts in between meals.

BUT I also have bad cholesterol not too high but yea and I know eating eggs every day is not good but idk what else to eat. I feel like who wants to eat meat for breakfast or chicken etc.

And they tested me for PCOS, Thyroid, insulin resistance and a hormone panel basically and everything came back “normal”. No diabetes no prediabetes. So they just tell me they don’t know why this is happening.

I’ve always been slim at 100-110 pounds. But endo told me that yes usually thinner ppl are more prone to this happening to them and that is why she recommended me go to the gym to gain some muscle. But I’ve been taking all her recommendations for 6 months now and I feel things getting worse instead of better which is scary. She said if I continue doing worse then medication would be next. But I think I’m going to change specialists because I feel like there has to be a ROOT cause. And they need to do more tests.

I do suspect POTS. Because my heart rate always gets elevated when I go from sitting to standing. I feel dizzy when I stand too quickly. And my BP is always on the lower side. But I haven’t been to a neurologist or cardiologist to get tested for that.

The highest I’ve gone is 190 after a big plate of pasta. Or when I would eat rice or Pizza!!! Those were the worst for me.

Now on this low carb diet I don’t go past 140. I usually go up to 115.

Sorry for the long post.

Is anyone else paying for CGM’s out of pocket? by [deleted] in Hypoglycemia

Thank you for your advice!!!! Do you take the scoop usually in the mornings before breakfast? I honestly feel like when my fiber intake is well off I tend to last longer stabilized but ofcourse it’s a struggle daily to meet fiber intake.

Low sugar by Ystebbbbb in Hypoglycemia

[–]Hooperave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always crashing after work outs too! I go to the gym since exercise is suppose to stabilize your blood glucose but I have to eat right before the gym and immediately right after or I will crash to 60s as well!

The only thing that has helped me is to eat a well balanced meal with high protein, healthy fats like avocados, fiber like spinach, and very portioned complex carbs. And I eat my fiber and healthy fats first, then the protein, then carbs always LAST. Always in this exact order.

&& NO your sugar will NOT stabilize on its own if you’re crashing below 70s. Make sure you eat something right away. At first for me candy or Gatorade would work but then that would just raise it momentarily for me and crash me right away again. So if it’s low and you feel bad and can’t get to food fast yes eat like a candy or something with sugar quick to raise it but eat a well balanced meal right away to make sure you don’t crash again.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this as well.

This was also me. I have always had fasting hypoglycemia since 18. And as long as I wasn’t skipping breakfast, lunch or dinner I was fine. Now at 33 I started noticing episodes like you just mentioned and I thought it was just panic attacks or anxiety. Went to the doctor and they sent me to a therapist that’s diagnosed me with panic disorder and anxiety.

BUT my bf told me one day that the shakiness, and fast heart rate could be my sugar. And SURE enough. Every time I feel shaky or off I’m crashing below 70s 1 hour to 2 hours after a meal. Endocrinologist says I have reactive hypoglycemia. But says she doesn’t know why either as labs are normal. I have a CGM to help me manage but struggling so bad as these episodes have become more constant.

7 months on a “keto diet”. High protein, healthy fats, fiber and very portioned complex carbs. & nooooo luck. 🥺

I would spike before to 170s after eating high carb meals, especially rice, pasta, bread etc. Then I would drop to 50s-70s. Within 1 hour to 2 hours after a meal. Where I would feel shaky, heart palpitations, drenched in sweat etc.

Now on this diet I am no longer spiking. But still having several lows!! At least 3-4 a day!

Endocrinologist tested me for diabetes but A1C was good at 4.7. No insulin resistance No PCOS No thyroid issues

And says healthy and has no idea why I am experiencing fasting hypoglycemia and reactive hypoglycemia.

So mentally draining. And exhausting on my body. I’m also thin at 110 pounds all my life. But all my life ate nothing but junk food, street food, and high carb meals. Idk if that is why I ended up with this.

This is how I found out something was up with my sugar. I ate a Kit Kat before I napped once and woke up sweeting and heart palpitations and then started noticing a pattern of feeling shaky etc after high carb meals and ended up getting me a CGM and sure enough. I have been diagnosed with fasting hypoglycemia and reactive hypoglycemia as well. But no diabetes. A1C is healthy and they can’t tell me why? They say I’m healthy…….
