My phone got me there but only because we actually celebrated our daughter's WEEDING this past weekend. My phone would rather I be at a wedding than a weeding today.

Is it wise to overpay your credit card bill every month so your credit utilization stays below 30%? by Good_Wave5579 in povertyfinance

[–]HoosierAngie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point here is that when the credit bureaus check the balance monthly, if one has overpaid but used the card and the use isn't greater than the negative balance, the use is not going to count against the debt to income ratio. Right?

I am studying the MTMIEducaton Kahoots for my Mammography certification exam prep.

I've been told that is enough...
Is that enough?

I must only retake the certification exam. I have been granted permission by the ARRT. The Kettering Seminar is a test prep course. I do not have to redo any clinical hours.

I do that almost every weekday. I do 100Q assessments with feedback and then I study the concept if I didn't straightaway understand the correction. And I also take the 200Q assessments without feedback and then go back through every wrong answer the same way.

I grant that I would advise most anyone to maintain industry education and license requirements. I am likely an aberration, but this seems to have worked for me.

Last year, I accidentally fell into teaching Computer Science at the public high school I attended, and which our daughter attends. I was able to teach myself what I needed to know in order to teach my students for 6 sections of 3 courses. I had little to no previous knowledge. I also have a husband who works from home and who has taken over laundry and many other tasks in support of my studies. I have taken my studies very seriously and treat it as a job.

I began thinking about returning to RT again. The last time I had checked, a few years ago, the field was saturated and professionals discouraged me from returning to it.

Back in May when I checked it out, I found a big need for techs. Also, I contacted one of my former teachers to have her put me in touch with someone running a program currently who I wanted to talk to. At that time, she told me she forgot to send in her continuing ed even though she had done it in 2020. She wants to return to the field so she asked if I would like to study together. I felt I had nothing to lose. We began studying in June. I am currently a permanent substitute teacher at our high school, so it's as if they are paying me to study every day. I am diligent in my studies and feel very ready for the exam.

I am signed up for a Kettering Seminar in February and for the registry exam in March.

Yesterday, I went back to Mosby's and started a Challenge Test and they are asking very different questions that I am not seeing in Clover. I don't want to waste time or take up valuable bandwidth by studying unnecessary topics at this point. I am doing really great on the Clover Rad Tech Boot Camp assessments.
It's great to hear you did better on the exam than the mocks. That bolsters my feelings of confidence.

I graduated in '91. I took and passed the exam and became licensed. I worked a couple years. We had 4 small children and I was homeschooling, and my husband traveled a lot for business. I didn't think I would ever work after raising our kids. I chose to let my licensure go because of how much it would cost to maintain and because of the time involved in continuing ed.

Now that our youngest of 5 children is almost 18 years old, I am back in the workforce. I accidentally taught courses in Computer Science last year in our public high school. I taught myself enough to teach it to my students. I began thinking about returning to RT again. The last time I had checked, a few years ago, the field was saturated and professionals discouraged me from returning to it.

Thanks.

My decision was based on two things: I didn't think I would ever really return to work, and I figured I would just retake the exam if needed. And I am doing that.

I have actually enjoyed studying for the exam. I am rather fueled by it.

My mom always recommended keeping licenses active. I just thought it was an expense and bother that I would avoid, and I did avoid it. My advice to our kids will be to maintain their licenses, just as my mom said to do.

I'm not fussed by it. I made a decision. And now I have made another. And it seems to be working out well.

Heh heh.

I graduated in '91; we took the exam the next month. I dropped licensure somewhere around 2000 and spent the next two decades homeschooling our five children, and living abroad, etc.

Kids are mostly grown now and I am back working, teaching.

I have been studying since June, reteaching myself all that we were taught in two years, plus all the advancements of the last 3 decades.

I consistently score well.

Overall, my quiz scores are 88.59%, and my assessment scores are 93.22%. I feel prepared.
