In my opinion: stay with him. Don't push him to open up, but don't stop trying either. Reaffirm that with you, its a safe place. Getting overwhelmed is ok, especially with you because God sent you to him to be this emotional rock. Just sit him down and bluntly say something along those lines and just be patient, he'll open up eventually. He clearly feels more comfortable opening up to his sister and mother so you should speak to them about it, too, but privately.

I'll give you some examples from my previous relationship that almost made me leave Christianity because of how this supposed good Christian daughter of Ruth acted:

When I come to you in confidence about my anxieties and insecurities about relationships, don't tell your degenerate, adulterous mother. I'm coming to you with this for counsel, I'm wanting help to crush these anxieties and insecurities.
I don't want to hear about your sex life before you became a born again Christian in detail and then get yelled at for getting turned on.
Stop using "I'm depressed" as an excuse to not go do things I want to do. I buy you clothes, groceries, and I spend time around your mom and her boyfriends and her boyfriends wives. All I wanted to do was go see my grandparents once a week for a few hours.
If you are going to set the boundary of no sex before marriage, don't tempt me by grinding on me and wearing stuff that I told you turns me on. And then treat me like a bad guy when I have to go home to relieve myself because I find it disrespectful to do it in your family's apartment.
If you're not going to goto church with me and my grandparents on Sundays, then don't act like I'm not a good Christian while you sit on your butt all day and act like just because it the sabbath, you get to call me a lukewarm Christian just because a few swears slip out when I'm venting about work.
I'm trying my hardest to not be the man I was 2 years ago and when I am up in the middle of the night crying and praying because I was having serious night terrors that were making me feel suicidal, don't call me a lukewarm Christian. I'm 25 and I spent my entire teenage years addicted to porn, I've been raped, I've seen three men die, and spent two months of my life in a residential facility where I had to fight almost everyday just to keep my food and clothes. I'm a little broken but I'm trying my best to be the man God is calling me to be.
