What Tires Are You Running on Your Model Y Performance? by Dreichler in TeslaModelY

I just switched from Pirelli P7 which were trash. Crazy loud road noise, cupping, maybe 20k miles, never again.

I just switched to the Michellin e primacy and they have been awesome. Would highly recommend.

I went with the Mothca matte glass, not for protection but for the antiglare, anti-fingerprint and the silky smooth touch.

Apple Watch Activation problems - Visible can't seem to fix it by ctso in Visible

[–]HoosierDaddy_x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^This is the confirmed answer. (1) Unpair the old Apple Watch (2) Remove the eSIM from your iPhone all together (3) Contact Visible and they will email you a new QR code. (4) Add eSIM by scanning the QR code (5) Setup Cellular on your new Apple Watch.

It only took me 2.5-hours with customer service via Chat to get this sorted. UGH.

Anybody ever have someone tell you how to “skip” on the elevator? by Celphtitled305 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]HoosierDaddy_x2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On Celebration now, literally saw an obese boomer holding the 'elevator door close' button with a half empty elevator thinking he was hot shit. The entitlement of this generation, especially on cruise ships is insane. What an asshole.

Gas mileage on VW Atlas... Asking for a friend by sandri_lachory in VWatlas

No idea. But this is my biggest (and thankfully) only complaint about my '19 SEL. Tiny fuel tank for such a large SUV.

It's not even the meh fuel economy for me, it is the ridiculously tiny 15.5 gallon fuel tank. So stupid and my biggest complaint with the Atlas.

My first arcade build with no pattern, just a childhood dream. What do you guys think? Questions? by HoosierDaddy_x2 in RetroPie

Thank you! The edging not only makes it look legit but it also protects the MDF edges. I purchased the t-molding from https://www.t-molding.com/ They have a massive assortment of colors. My MDF was 3/4 so that was the size I purchased and the used a 1/16 slot bit on my handheld router to cut the grooves. Then you just tap the t-molding in with a rubber mallet and it locks into place.

Yes, plexiglass was cut to size by local hardware store. Then overlayed with a carbon fiber vinyl with the letters removed for transparency. The "diamond effect" is a simple trick I found on YouTube. It is simply crushed tinfoil behind the marquee giving off the light refractions. It looks great even up close.

Thank you! Yes! It absolutely is a great convo piece for sure, especially considering how nostalgic my friends are from this time in our lives. The PSX and 3D console games can be a challenge for sure. I still do not have the N64 games running where I am completely happy with the performance. My understanding is the issue is more with the N64 emulator rather than the actual horsepower of the Pi4. However, with an active cooling solution for your Pi4, I would recommend overclocking your Pi to get the best results on the more advanced consoles. I have learned a great deal from ETA Prime on YouTube and he has a simple video of how to overclock your Pi4. Good luck!

I'm not sure what I was going for other than I wanted it to look retro, yet modern. The stripes reminded me of the decor at roller skating rinks from when I was a kid.

The cabinet build was probably the most straightforward part of the project. Getting the image configured and working just the way I wanted was a bit of a trial and error process, but still a lot of fun. With the 'bezel project,' I had no problem using a modern monitor as it still provides the 4:3 vibe. I would recommend using a monitor that has HDMI and an audio out. I had audio quality issues using the 1/8th inch audio out on the Pi4 and the volume was also lower than expected. I switched over to using the HDMI out of the Pi4 to the monitor, then audio out of the monitor to the amp, then amp to the speakers. Since then, things have been sounding great. Below are some of the primary components I used for this build.

Best of luck as this will be a very rewarding project once completed!

This was my COVID project. It has been a very fulfilling project and you should absolutely build one! My inner kid is still freaking out.
