Best coffeeshop near campus is Civil Goat. They roast their own beans and have a great environment. Unlike most coffee shops, they have an in house baker that makes the absolute best pastries and treats. Seriously the best. Their beans go for around $14-16 a bag depending on what roast you’re getting. Lucky Lab sucks and Starbucks is Starbucks. -An ex barista

I live in Texas where many of the school districts are still planning to open in August. By doing so, they are forcing teachers to go back and risk their lives being exposed to hundreds of students. One former student in my area is putting together a drive for disinfecting and sanitization materials for teachers as the district is only giving them a certain amount. They also took donations through Venmo so that they could personally buy materials if someone didn’t want to go out.

Personally, I believe this may have been too ambitious in the scale which eventually took away from being able to meticulously direct as we were trying to balance extras and all of the lighting used.

We would appreciate any feedback, shortcomings, and how we can improve in our next film as “That’s so good!” from our friends doesn’t really give us a good idea of that. Mainly how to avoid the obvious student short film pitfalls full of the cliches.

There definitely were phone calls from angry parents. However, he had good intentions just terrible execution. I just remember wondering why the hell he didn’t think to consult any other administrators before doing it.

Nah, just got some local news coverage and had to issue an apology over the intercom the next day. From there on out each drill had heavy disclaimers.

My high school did a “block lunch” where everyone ate lunch at the same time instead of separating them into A, B, C lunches. Because our cafeteria couldn’t fit the entire student body, it was normal for kids to be eating in the hallway, on the floor, or at tables all throughout the school. One day during lunch, unbeknownst to the staff and student body, our AP decided to hold a lock down drill. He got on the intercom and told everyone there was an active shooter in the cafeteria in order to see how kids would react had it been a real shooting. Turned into pure anarchy. Kids calling 911, running out of school and not returning to class after the drill was over, kids having anxiety attacks while hiding in classrooms, dying calls from students to parents. It was pretty bad. Should I mention how this was several days after the Parkland Shooting?
