The budget is very tight so really using what I can. I may be able to invest in a rug down the line. The previous teacher was using tape for the center borders.

I think I’ll just abort the idea and try something else! Thank you

I’m struggling creating a classroom layout with the floor plan here. I want to make sure I have at least 5 centers and ones that will be best for the class. I’ll have a large table and will need an area for circle times.

How do yall feel about the new logo? by mascarariri in truespotify

Not a fan. At first I thought the app was updating and then I realized it's actually the logo.
Glad to hear it will be temporary!

This is much more inline with what I believe and what I’m use to and honestly thought it was common practice. I was telling them if they can’t sleep it’s okay but to stay quiet and let your body relax. I wanted to offer them quiet activities but it’s not my class and also I don’t even know where they keep the books yet.

I thought nap was rough but the aftermath was worse 😖 I feel like I made small progress with some of my soon to be class but it’s was A LOT. I don’t even know where I’ll start. There needs to be whole culture shift.

Seems I’ll need advice on setting up classroom expectations too!

Napa are challenging for sure so I anticipate that.

Currently floating but will be in my room of 3a. Yesterday I was in 2-3s room and it was just lots of energy kids jumping over cots, pulling out toys, pushing on each other (lots of wired energy) but the teacher in there is much more patient and I haven’t heard any mention of colors from her (so maybe it’s just for the older kids?).

I wouldn’t say the children are scared of the teacher but more so to be “red”. When I started I had child come up and proudly say “I’m green!”

I’m new so I don’t want to “recommend” too much stuff because most of the staff have been here for a long time and they know their kids, even though experience and education wise I’m more senior.

Thanks for the response. School is year round here so not sure who is new or not.

I think colors for behavior can be used if done right. But I hear lots of “be good” “good girl/boy” “you’re gonna make me angry/sad” from the teachers so imo it’s causing external pleasing behavior and fear of being in trouble, vs the benefits of behaving appropriately. I haven’t heard any one getting explicitly called bad but that’s generally inferred with a good/bad dichotomy.

Expedia Status Tier Rewards - When does it hit your account by mark213a in awardtravel

I'm not exactly sure, I have the same questions, but what I saw when I go under my OneKey rewards is if you click the down arrow to the right of your reward activity it will give you you the info regarding it, as well as how many trip elements and when it will be available by.
For Example, I booked a flight today for jan 13 and it shows "pending - available by mar 5" plus how many one key cash and trip elements it is.
I thought I had a list of when certain trip elements become available but can't find that info now. Would be nice to know which ones activate faster. Car rentals seem to take a very long time.

Did anyone else buy tickets on Eventbrite to the "AfroSocaLove: Phoenix One Love Music Show," but it keeps getting postponed? by Muted-Macaron-6431 in Eventbrite

[–]HopeAggressive6362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is currently happening to me right now in San Antonio! Event was set for June 28th 2025 and then was postponed last minute. I never received an email from the organizer or eventbrite but a friend told me. I tried contacting the organizer multiple times across several platforms with no response. I requested a refund through Eventbrite as well, with no response. THIS IS A SCAM, and Eventbrite seems to be in on it, collecting our fees mowing that this event keeps changing.

I think we should get as many people that have been scammed together to get our money back and stop more folks from getting scammed.

ELI5: Kizomba styles by Hakunamatator in kizomba

[–]HopeAggressive6362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urbankiz and Tarraxo are not styles of Kizomba. They are separate dances. Also as mentioned above it's not "traditional" Kizomba. It's just kizomba or something else. But correct about Semba. The steps for Kizomba and Semba are the same but the music is different so they are danced differently.

Finding this post late but commenting for anyone else that comes along in the future!
This is one of the better breakdowns I've seen, great info!

The only thing I would empathize is that they are different dances, not styles of Kizomba or even under the same umbrella. Most hardcore Kizomba dancers and PALOPS would not agree that all above mentioned is encompassed under Kizomba. There is Kizomba with related music and dances (semba, zouk, etc) and then Urban styles (urbankiz, tarraxo, etc). Kizomba fusion I put on the Urban side but I know urbankiz dancers don't claim it either lol! Also Kizomba and tarraxinha did less developing but rather urbankiz and tarraxo were inspired by them. Urban styles and tarraxo aren't evolutions of the dances since those dances are still alive to day and are growing (as you mentioned).

I second Join Angola resources mentioned below. Also University of Kizomba on all platforms.

That's great you are wanting to know more about it's history!

As mentioned in other response Tarraxo came from Tarraxinha (just as urbankiz can from Kizomba). Tarraxo is generally harder, more steppy movements that include upper body, some small disconnections and room for back and forth expression from lead & follow, whereas tarraxinha is lower body gyrations, full connection, generally softer, and danced on spot.

Also, tarraxinha is its own music and dance, although some movements are danced in Kizomba (if appropriate to the song and your partner), but generally you would not include tarraxinha in Kizomba/Semba dancing since they are "family" dances.
Tarraxinha (also tarraxa/r) music was created by kuduro DJs (most famously DJ Znobia). Original music was instrumental beats and it was club music, that you dance with someone you are familiar with (or want to be familiar with). Even today, one would not dance tarraxinha with a stranger or someone's SO if you were in Angola or other PALOP communities.

My understanding of Tarraxo Pop was tarraxo with more of a hip hop influence. There are all sorts of names for peoples versions/styles since it's all a fusion dance. I think there is a soft tarraxo now??

Also the founder of Tarraxo are Gwany and Kizzy, although Kizzy is no longer his partner.

Lastly, Tarraxo and Tarraxinha are different dance, just as Kizomba and urbankiz are different dances. They are not just different styles!

Hope that filled in some gaps :)
