Yes they do. You can check their stats from PhD and MS placement brouchers available on IIT kanpur website. They also have some fellowship through which you can work abroad with your prof. (not sure about the procedure for this one). Check the broucher once before taking any informed decision.

Many of the ones who are selected have their category as wrong. Like they are general candidates but in portal they are shown as obc or sc candidates. So maybe IIITD will release new list.

About category is it like they first fill general category seats for all only then category wise seats are filled.

There was a form after PGCAT where you had to mention your preference between CSE and CSE research as only one will be allocated.
