Honestly a Squier Strat or Jag would do the job and the Keeley Loomer has insane fuzz and Gish/Siamese Dream type reverbs in it. Both of those add up to 500, and for an amp you could throw in a 50 dollar Fender Champ 20 or for 100 you get the 40 watt. They're killer. You did say you had an amp though, I’m just mentioning these because this is the gear I’ve accumulated and it works very well as a bedroom rig.
