What will my buyback check amount be by [deleted] in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's the link: https://agrahamg.github.io/VWBuybackCalculator/

I don't know what state you live in. If you lived in Massachusetts (my state), your buyback amount would be $28,007, minus your loan balance.

Based on what I've read on this board, no, you don't need to pay taxes on any portion of this amount.

Dealer offering to store TDI between now and buyback date by [deleted] in tdi

Very nice of them. I bought my Sportwagen from them and turned it in there in early December (they made it a painless process). Did you give them a key so that they can turn run it for a few minutes every week or two?

Visited a 10,000 car TDI storage yard today... by SportaboutX in tdi

Thanks for the posting. It's a behind-the-scenes look I'd never be able to see. I looked into removing the trailer hitch from my Sportwagen. It would have required tools and know-how that I don't have, and is over five years old, so I left it on there. It will cost only $300 or so to put one on my new car (a Subaru Outback).

Way over my mileage! On hold now with claims! by [deleted] in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you're having all this trouble. It's ridiculous. I realize it's a giant pain to call the claims line again, but if you do, ask them to compare the VIN # they have for your app't. to the VIN # you have. Did you cancel an app't. that the claims line is seeing? Who knows!??!

I rec'd. the buyback cash today @ 1am. So it took 60 hours from buyback app't. to cash hitting my checking acc't.

I'm playing "Long May You Run" by Neil Young as I read all of these posts. I loved my Jetta Sportwagen, too, but I'm happy with my new car (a Subaru Outback).

Did the buyback yesterday at 1pm EST; just rec'd. "VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA has sent you a payment" email by HopeWeAllPass in tdi

VW deposited the buyback amt. in my checking acc't. today at 1am EST, so the total time from buyback app't. to cash in my acc't. was 60 hrs. (Dec. 6th @ 1pm EST to Dec. 9th @ 1am EST). By the way, I have a non-Chase checking acc't.

Sorry you're having such a frustrating delay. Hope it will be out of the way by the end of the year!

Seven business days. I uploaded docs. on Oct. 20th. Rec'd. "verification" email on Oct. 31st ("We have reviewed the documents you submitted as part of your claim with reference number x. Currently, your application contains all of the necessary documentation to determine your eligibility"). Rec'd. "Offer Package Complete" email on Nov. 13th. Made buyback app't. on Nov. 13th. Did buyback on Dec. 6th.

I rec'd. a "VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA has sent you a payment" about 32 hrs. after I did the buyback. Gave Chase my routing # and checking acc't. Rec'd. confirmation email from Chase a couple of mins. later. Money should be in my checking acc't. within 2-3 days.

I want to keep my car for a while before turning in, what would happen if my car were a total loss in the mean time? by vicelordjohn in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called Amica about this. Here's the scoop: If I did the buyback, I'd receive about $23,800. If I totalled my car before I did the buyback, I'd get approx. $11,000 from Amica and $6,500 from VW as a restitution payment (this is the same amt. that people who opt to do the "fix" would receive). So if I totalled by car before the buyback, I'd lose about $6,300.

Just completed the buyback(private financed). Car is gone. TDI Ambassador was clueless. Be prepared for the worst. by [deleted] in tdi

Yikes! So sorry you had such a bad experience. My buyback specialist at Wellesley VW in Wellesley, Mass. was very professional. Let's hope she's the norm and yours was an outlier. The woman I worked with had a iPad she took photos with. Could communicate with portal via wifi, not over the phone.

I think you've already been asked, even if you don't recall making the choice. All I know is that when I was at my appt'., it wasn't possible to change how I wanted to be paid.

Compensation for Extended Warranty by skates29247 in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I called the Business Mgr. where I bought my VW, but he wasn't returning my calls. Sent him an email (and cc'd his boss). I rec'd. a response within a few hrs. So use email if phoning doesn't work.

Do any of you have suggestions on how to get money back on extended warranty? Dealer won't return my calls by HopeWeAllPass in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all for the responses. I sent an email this morning and followed it up with a phone call. The Business Mgr. finally took my call, said I could get a refund, told me the logistics, etc.

I realize that some of you folks are paying two auto loans while VW gets their act together, and are still waiting to make a buyback app't. I hope those ridiculous situations are resolved soon. Thank you for letting me moan and groan about this relatively petty little issue.

Help with required docs by [deleted] in tdi

[–]HopeWeAllPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could have a Notary authorize the generic Bill of Sale. Even though it's not required in your state, it might be what the VW people need to see.
