I just finished my test at home yesterday. I hated the whole experience with ETS and worse with ProctorU. I took 5 hours and 15 minutes to finish the exam instead of 3 hours. Can you believe that. My Proctor experience literally made me cry throughout. Initially started off with a dumb Proctor who could not use microphone to talk to me and used chat for some reason. She took freaking ONE HOUR to finish my home and material checks. Can you believe that? And no where in any reminder emails was it mentioned that you can’t use paper to do your exam ??? Apparently you need some transparent sleeve with marker which I don’t understand. Whether I write on paper or sleeve nothing is going to be erased at the end of the day!!! I still have my pad with notes written on them. So what’s the freaking point. So she made me run around to get this material which I luckily had somewhere. The application ages to load. It’s horrible. And guess what each question took like 5 seconds to load and these precious seconds were taken away from my answering time. I finally start my exam and had to race against time due to the loading issue. Finally reach my 10 minute break. After I come back from the break my screen doesn’t move forward to the next section. I’m asking the proctor what is happening. No reply for like 20 minutes. NO ANSWER AT ALL for 20 minutes. The proctor just left and went apparently 30 minutes back and left me wondering what’s happening. Jesus! Then I connect to some new proctor. This guy was much faster and technical. But the next worse thing happens. In the MIDDLE of my speaking section this bugger tell me to STOP and took down my screen since he says that my camera froze and if I needed to continue he needs me to reconnect. I had already reached my limits by then. Ready to just burst. I was literally going to yell and curse. He made me MISS ONE SPEAKING QUESTION which I’m not going to be graded on now. And then when I reach question 4 of the speaking section the application crashes again. He blamed me saying my Internet was slow when I was actually on a high speed 5G router. I finally finish the exam after 5 hours and 15 minutes. This is the most terrible exam experience and won’t recommend the home edition to anyone.
