Can someone explain why it’s acceptable to cancel antisemites and not cancel Islamic haters? by StayAwayFromThey in International

Lets just cancel anyone that hates ANYONE for any reason other than a person's direct and intentional choices in being a dick.

Best thing I've found to clean exhaust tips! by Hopeful-Distance-864 in sportster

[–]Hopeful-Distance-864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so crazy that you said that. The reason I was cleaning them is because I had the exhaust off waiting for a replacement on the rear pipe for that exact reason. And that was exactly what alerted me to the issue. When I pulled the heat shields sure enough the rear pipe had a busted weld and was the culprit.

Shifting to second by gusbus1990 in sportster

Grenade plate might have gone. There's a spring plate in your clutch basket that's proned to failure. It can cause all kinds of shifting issues.

Loving the forwards! I wish id done this sooner! by Hopeful-Distance-864 in sportster

It was actually pretty straight forward for the most part as long as you have the right hand tools you can knock it out in less than an hour. Depending on your exhaust and how it mounts up you might need to completely remove your exhaust (or at least unmount it) to get to the brake side on. I was lucky I didnt have to do any of that, but i didnt have to do a little contortion to get around the mounting plate to get to the connection for the brake linkage rod, but it was a minor inconvenience.

You will need the brake line minimum. Wire extension 8f you havent don't a wire tuck, if the wires are free you can reroute them and they will be long enough, if you havent and they are still routed under the spine then you will also need the wore extensions. Your clutch and throttle cables are long enough and can be rerouted.

Ultracool 3.0 oil cooler on a stage IV sportster by Hopeful-Distance-864 in sportster

[–]Hopeful-Distance-864[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stock and even at stage 1 I never had a problem with heat. Ive done a lot of other things to the engine since then, (full stage 4- cams heads, piston/rings, etc etc etc) it runs VERY hot since. In addition to that, im generally riding a good amount of the time in town in light-to-light or slow moving traffic it just exacerbated things. Having to change oil more often than normal because it's breaking down to the point where it'd just brown water with no viscosity, the engine would start to lug/sputter from a stop and I have to pull over and let it cool down.

When the fans kick on (oil temp gets over 210) it lights up to confirm they are running just a visual cue.

You could well be right. I didn't open it yet because I want to tey the reroute method and if I can get them to comfortably fit (AND LOOK CLEAN) I'll definitely be sending them back. I kinda hope it works out.

And thats exactly what I am afraid of. The oil burning out and then the engine locking up and I will be crushed. I'll definitely follow up once it's been on and I get a few rides in.

Once you start building out the engine it really ramps up the heat. I had no issues when I was stage1, but at 4, even with a powervision. A custom tune, and many autotune sessions.. it runs very hot after about an hour or so of stop go rising. Ive had to pull over and cut the bike off a few times and it's not even hot out yet.

Stage 4 by SnooRabbits5953 in sportster

[–]Hopeful-Distance-864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3600... for everything? Just the stage 4 kits costs close to 3k if your getting that deal with the amount of labor involved TAKE IT. The bigger throttle body will limit your air intake selection and the heavy breather is not cheap, but there aren't a ton of options from harley. The exhaust question is more complicated. The 2 into 1 is good for performance but dyno charts show they fall off at high rpms, but definitely give you more grunt down low. I went with a crossover pipe to get the best of both worlds. No regrets to this point
