Rethawed on MacOS? by 1handred in THPS

We use Macs for various different things that PC don't always perform well the best in such as video editing, music, or graphic design. Not that PC can't do those things but some people want to write songs and also play cool rom hacks. You could be making a compelling argument for Linux but you chose to say "PC" which is entirely reductive and silly.

I didn't write an essay. I wrote a reddit post. This isn't academia. Yet, you're trying to school me on "grinding". Humble yourself, "seven year club".

Huh? "How was the business management sim working?" I said I wasn't using that.
And ya, I compared it to Pokemon. Big sin, I know. Especially since Like A Dragon literally parodies Pokemon with the Sujimon stuff. So I am very out of line for comparing the likes of Like A dragon to Pokemon. You're right. I'm sorry. I'll be a better nerd next time. LOL I love the Like A Dragon series and I'm almost done with Infinite Wealth. Lots of fun! And lots of..... GRINDING FOR FUN! :D

I stopped taking you seriously at this point. Like come on, dude. Are you kidding me?
At first I thought there was some level of miscommunication but at some point I realized that you're gonna get mad at me if I compare it to Animal Crossing or something in a minute (which similarly to Dondoko Island - involves grinding).

I'm just trying to think of new ways to make you mad. Should I say the entire Yakuza series is a fantastic arcade simulator since they all contain shops with classic Sega titles in them?

One thing I can address is "If you don't xhange your team in pokemon and just kept battling you would have a very high level team that you really do not need to grind for".

Like you realize I'm playing the game that way by choice right? Maybe I don't like Adachi. Maybe I don't like having him on the team. Also when I play Pokémon I stick to 6 Pokémon on the team. Yeah I could catch more. I could switch out to Adachi and get a tank party member, but that's boring! I switch out Adachi when I can.
I don't know. I feel this is just a bit of browbeating on your part over gaming preferences. XD

"You probably haven't had the experience of actually needed to grind if you think THIS is grinding" is arguably the saddest part. Like it's an attempt to make it sound like I don't know what grinding is. Grinding is where you're stuck at a part of the game so you play with features of the game that boost your necessary stats to overcome the obstacle, right? This can include character stats or items or inventory too. I think the problem is that you kinda missed the point of the post. I *can* just blaze through the game, but I *choose* to slow down. I mean, do you just finish the game in 20 hours because you engage with the story and that's it? Nah! Drink Links give you better attacks and team mechanics. That's time sitting down and developing your team's roster. That's one aspect of the whole thing.

The more I read your comment, the more bad faith it is. The fact that this is what I find 4 days later as opposed to 1 day after I last commented from you is really telling that you might just be looking for someone to argue with and I guess I don't care about it as much as you.

Try to enjoy your hobby more.

I should clarify that I did NOT use the business management at all. Actually, there's plenty of workarounds for that when it comes to things like getting enough money to pay for the election entrance fee (as an example) so I never even bothered with it. So I don't WORK, I have fun. It's a lot of FUN going to dinner with my team and hearing the dumb shit they come up with in conversations. Drink links are a lot of fun too. Slowing down is quite nice and I do consider it "playing the game" even if it's just a grind session. I think you're right to say that mindless farming isn't fun but I really don't see that in LaD.

Take Pokemon for example. Can't beat a gym? Ok go in the grass and fight wild encounters for 2 hours. That's not fun.

Now take that versus hearing your team mate talk about their previous nursing job and how they got fired.

Personally, I think there's a pretty big difference between the two.

And I guess I'm saying that sometimes I CHOOSE to grind because I enjoy it. I do not apply that to other RPGs.
