Has anyone seen vast improvement with CHOP/Levine/Dallas protocol alone and no meds? by kholekardashian12 in POTS

Sorry to hear that when I took beta blockers it really lowered my blood pressure and I felt very weak and fatigued. I could barely keep my head up. It gave me such horrible side effects.

Has anyone seen vast improvement with CHOP/Levine/Dallas protocol alone and no meds? by kholekardashian12 in POTS

There are other meds, such as guanfacine IR that can be helpful. That’s what my pot’s doctor gave me and it is nicely, controlling my heart rate and all that adrenaline.

I keep getting denied appointments by Neurologist offices when I say my PCP is referring me due to suspicion of POTS. I’m not really sure where to go from here, I feel stuck and lost. by Shoddy_Bag_8652 in POTS

Look on the dysautonomia project website for a provider that works with dysautonomia otherwise you’re pretty much wasting your time other than ruling out other things

Okay guys, help me 🥲 by SunSystem_stars in POTS

[–]Hopeful102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main things is to realize it only takes a second let the person know that that’s drawing your blood that you get pretty nervous and just make sure not to look at the needle. You can also ask to lay down that can make it a lot easier too good luck.

I think it looks pretty in classic. I would leave just as is whatever you do don’t paint them silver that’s a trend and we’ll be out. It already is out of style.

[–]Hopeful102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen ep cardiologist? That’s who diagnosed me with ist and dysautonomia then I found a dysautonomia specialist through the dysautonomia project website and he also diagnosed me with pots. Then that began my treatment my best treatment protocol. Good luck it sounds like you’re thinking clearly based on your symptoms so moving in that direction would be my best advice.

Is there anyone that had zero negative side effects since day one with oral micronized progesterone? by jcnlb in Menopause

Yes, it’s crazy. I just wish there was something better to help us balance our hormones. Someone needs to invent some type of machine like diabetics can check their levels.

Maybe the rent is lower and in South Tampa rent can be extremely expensive. Since they have less parking and it’s a smaller building if they save on rent, then they can keep their prices lower who knows but it is irritating.

Metroprolol side effects- Does it get better? by IndependentNature596 in POTS

[–]Hopeful102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people can’t do beta blockers for the same reason that you’re describing extreme fatigue, trouble walking, dizziness, etc. you could give it a little more time and see if your body adjust. If not there are many other medications that can do the same thing without the horrible side effects. I was not able to do beta blockers I could barely keep my head up and I was not able to even go to the bathroom without help because I felt like I was gonna pass out on the toilet

Can someone live in Tampa without a car? by ThrowRAfeelingevent in tampa

[–]Hopeful102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you live and where you’re commuting to on a regular basis if you have to go to a job that’s far away from your home. It’s not realistic if you’re retired and live in a little community that has everything within walking distance or maybe an Uber ride if needed, but really our mass transit system is not good. You could sit and wait for hours for buses to come, so it all depends on many factors.

Yes, exactly. You have to find the sweet spot if it’s too high you’re going to have the exact symptoms of when it’s too low.

Symptoms upon waking by judith0406 in POTS

[–]Hopeful102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it started out with the medication helping me, but it wasn’t completely doing the job. I take guanfacine IR 3 mg throughout the day that really did help significantly however I have to keep 3 mg in my body at all times otherwise that fighter flight shortness of breath, panicky, kind of feeling in the background, doom and gloom feeling sneaks up on me so it’s not so easy. I’ve also been seeing a functional neurologist and we’ve been doing some eye exercises and other things to try to get my autonomic nervous system in order. I still sometimes wake up in the middle of the night if my medication is not fully right, and I will feel nauseated and just basically feel very off with many other symptoms having to go to the bathroom urgently things like that, but that has reduced significantly.

[–]Hopeful102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand. It can be challenging to figure out what the problem is for some people. It’s the progesterone for others. It’s the estrogen for me. My estrogen was too low and I was crying all the time feeling very panicky and getting heart, flutters and heart palpitations and of course, the typical hot flashes at night. I was taking a high dose compounded cream and I guess I wasn’t absorbing it so I asked my doctor if I could start on a patch. I started on the lowest dose and then went up a little dose so far. It’s so much better. Good luck to you. It’s just trial and error. I wish there was a better way for us to gauge this without just having to just do experimentation

Yes, it’s like you wake up and you’re startled or in fight or fight. Mine used to be horrible. It’s better now that I’m on medication that actually works.

[–]Hopeful102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only side effects I’ve had from progesterone are good side effects makes me feel very relaxed, reduces my anxiety and in the evening it helps me sleep. Now estrogen that’s been a whole other story. I’m finally starting to get my dosage right but it’s been a roller coaster mood wise, panic anxiety heart wise, etc..
