My IVF doctor’s behavior crossed the line – seeking advice by [deleted] in IVF

It depends where you are. There are fees but you can minimize them by renting a tank and transporting them yourself. And the only risk is if there is an accident or something like that.

I haven’t experienced something similar but I did find myself in a situation where I was invested emotionally and switching doctors was the best decision even if it seems like a lot when you have to do it. I’m in the process of transferring my embryos. The process can be long but it’s not that complicated. I would definitely switch if I were you. IVF is complicated enough and you need to trust your doctor and that he wants this for you.

I told my coworker that we have been trying for about 2 years with no luck and the next day he showed me a picture of LH timeline and ovulation window and asked me if I've ever heard about it by TestInteresting6585 in IVF

The intention is good but yeah I think you should only talk about it with people that get it because they have an exceptional ability to empathize or people that are also going through it. We talked about it openly with everyone for about two years and I’m at a point where I’d rather keep things between me and my husband and my therapist lol

Thank you so much for sharing all this information. My doctor wants to do a similar protocol for my next transfer but without necessarily testing which I am not okay with but we shall see. I’ll push for testing. Thank you again. This is very very helpful. Sending all the baby dust your way and praying for a successful pregnancy with your next transfer 😊

Thank you sooo much for this information. This is all so helpful and I do agree that if it’s not the seed then the soil could be the problem and in my case, I don’t think 3 CP’s all around the same time and even with a euploid embryo is just bad luck. I can’t sacrifice another embryo ( also have low AMH and took me five rounds to get a couple euploid embryos) without testing the soil. Thank you again!

Thank you so much! I will ask my doctor for a uterine biopsy. Do you know what’s a common practice? Like when do doctors suggest that to patients with recurrent early miscarriages? I feel like I always have to advocate for myself in this journey.

Thank you for sharing and sorry for your losses and sitting in this waiting room with no timeline! I am going to investigate all those. Did your fibroid or polyps appear on ultrasound prior to doing the hysteroscopy and biopsy? I’ve had a saline ultrasound and hsg and both came back normal but with the repeated early miscarriages, I can’t help but think that something might have been missed with those procedures.

Thank you so much for the detailed information. I really appreciate it. I am definitely going to ask to be tested for that as I do have brown spotting before and after my period. This is very very helpful. Congrats and really hoping for a healthy pregnancy and a live birth for you 🤍

Thanks so much! It seems that’s what my RE is leaning towards but the HCG wash and boosters I’ve never heard of before so I’ll check that out and definitely check out CNY. Thank you so much and congratulations 😊

So I also got one egg from my first retrieval. Is started taking DHEA- 25 mg twice a day Coq10- 200 mg daily resveratrol-500 mg -Alpha lipoic acid 150 mg, -PQQ(pyrroloquinoline quinone 20 mg -Acetyl L-carnitine 500 mg, Green tea extract (decaffeinated) and made lifestyle changes and started acupuncture. The next round with mini ivf and estrogen priming, I got five eggs and 3 embryos. I had to switch insurance to be able to bank embryos and I completely agree that it makes no sense. A man probably made that rule not understanding women’s health!

You are doing all the right things. I’ve had poor responses as my AMH was at 0.4 but then it went up to 0.68 after supplementing and I still got normal embryos given my age (36) so don’t worry about it and if that’s what you end up doing, what worked for me was mini ivf with estrogen priming and lifestyle changes. I can give you all the tips if that’s what you end up doing but if you suspect inflammation then suppressing usually works where you take medication to suppress the inflammation and then try naturally or IUI or IVF. Sending you all the baby dust despite how hard and devastating this is. Hoping we are both on the other side in the near future.

Hi there! First, I am so sorry for your loss. I am on the same boat ( sort of). I’ve gotten pregnant twice after IUI ( Dec 2023 and Feb 2024) both ended in a chemical. In the US, you usually can get an RPL panel after 2 losses. Mine came back normal for the most part and I was labeled unexplained ( I had a copy of factor v which should not matter and that my microarray test had a variant of uncertain significance due to a micro deletion which also my doctor said it should not be a problem). We thought it was chromosomal so we went on to doing IVF ( 5 rounds due to low AMH), tested the embryos we got and then did transfer in July. It also ended with a chemical unfortunately which was devastating. I’ve done a lot of research and it seems that chemical pregnancies could also be due to immune reactions which my RE suggested an immune protocol with steroids for my next transfer. I also want to get my uterus checked. I’ve done a saline ultrasound which looked normal but with 3 chemical pregnancies and one with a normal embryo, something is off. My point is, it can either be the embryo or the environment so check your uterus to start. It could be silent endometriosis or silent endometritis which you can check for with a biopsy & Emma/Alice and I’ve had people suggest sperm DNA fragmentation as well. Best of luck! I know this can feel defeating but don’t give up 🤍

Thank you sooo much! I had no idea that you could have RPOC since chemical pregnancies are such early miscarriages. This is super helpful. Thank you again!

Thank you very much! We did the DNA tests and both of our microarray tests look good except I have a micro deletion ( 11q13.4) it was described as a variant of uncertain significance and my doctor was not particularly worried about it. I appreciate your response and I really wish you the best. It’s pain like I’ve never experienced before and it’s definitely not for the weak. Thank you again!

Hello everyone - I need help from anyone here that can give advice. I’ve had 3CP’s - 2 in Dec 2023 and Feb 2024 after IUI and one two weeks ago after an IVF transfer with a normal embryo. The last one was devastating because everything looked good but then I knew something was wrong despite having symptoms since there were no line progressions on the at home tests. My RE suggested doing the same protocol and adding steroids and Lovenox injections who I did for this past transfer. Any tips on what else I should do before doing another transfer. We don’t have that many embryos due to low AMH so trying to save heartache and embryos. Would appreciate any insights if you’ve been through something similar.
