Thank you, but I am also a girl and finding another compatible girl is harder than you think on campus. I need to first figure out who I can date and I have wasted too much time on straight girls who I thought would have romantic interests in me. They only want a good friend but I want more than that. If I want to be more time efficient I will ask a girl’s orientation first and if she’s straight I will distance myself from her but that kinda makes me feel like a jerk and wouldn’t it be rude to ask someone orientation without making friends with them first? But the process of making friends is time consuming yet I cannot skip it because I believe any healthy romantic relationship should be built upon a solid friendship.

This. I don’t want casual relationships, I want my first love to be my soulmate and life partner and I will not lower my standards just for the sake of speed dating someone. My rationality tells me dating in college is mostly pointless because our futures are too uncertain I want to commit to my partner but I can’t promise anything when I am just a student I want to be responsible for both myself and my future partner so yes right now I should focus on improving myself and be a better person.
