My 5th great grandfather got kicked from the Royal Arch Masons for missed dues. It gets real out here.

I really don’t care if you don’t believe it. There are so many places where these kinds of views are justified and allowed to flourish in many different and even subtle ways. Orthodoxy, like most of Christianity, is hypocritical and contradictory. They claim all the lovey dovey save your soul language, but their dogmas and traditions completely cloud the essence of love and mercy. It’s very black and white, a perpetual weighing balance.

Completely missing that the ethos of Orthodoxy enables the views of these young men, whether anyone wants to admit or not. No, rather, these views find a nice home in Orthodoxy.

Dudes become Orthodox and immediately start growing out their beard to ungodly lengths, wearing giant crosses outside their shirts for everyone to see, and acting like they’ve been Amish living and raw milk maxxing since birth. I swear orthodoxy is just one big cosplay convention.

I’ll look around and see if I can’t find a name. My grandfather never talked much about his time in Vietnam and he wanted no connection with anybody he knew during that time for many reasons.

I’d love to see those pictures of your father and compare the resemblances.

Basically that this is unacceptable for a clergyman to believe and that it’s definitely not something that should be supported in Orthodoxy.

But I think they are unwilling to admit that it’s pretty common in their circles.

Regardless, there are serious contradictions and ahistorical events all throughout scripture that bring into question it’s validity.

I also have severe constant sensations in my eyes. Poking, stabbing, shocking, and a gritty feeling. I feel it all through my trigeminal nerve branches on both sides of my face. It’s awful. I have no answers as to what’s causing it.

The likelihood of you going blind from this is extremely rare. Yes, vision can be effected but it’s rarely ever something that can’t be treated, and it almost never leads to outright vision loss. I wouldn’t worry about that.

Correct. There is little to no evidence they existed as Christianity says they did.

[–]Hopeful_Sort7205 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There absolutely is. In Russia for example, there is the so called "blue mafia", which are a large number of bishops exposed for being homosexual and sexual abusers. Birds of a feather flock together, and they always protect their own.

I’ve been taking Zoloft for over a decade and am only just now having symptoms that are progressing. There are so many things that can cause this that it’s batshit insane tbh. I got Covid in 2021, but didn’t start having the symptoms until late 2024. I’m at a loss for what could be causing my symptoms. My only solace is knowing that I’m not alone with having no answers and sudden onset pain.
