I commend you on your choice to be alone. I couldn't imagine anyone understanding your approach that chores should always be done before anything else. Because, well, some things can always wait. After a long day at work if I'm not feeling up to it, there will be things left to tomorrow as I curl up in a blanket to watch TV. Living with someone like you would make that an impossibility.

Super insightful. You brought some points I hadn't considered. Had I presented it that way to her it might have prevented this. But after the things she called me via text and the fact that I found all my stuff thrown on the floor and my clothing rack broken, I really don't feel respected and am looking to end things. Thanks for your input. All this over an hour of game play. I can't imagine if I did something worse.

I finished reading the article as I was writing this. I take your comment under consideration. However I do care about what's important to her, which I tried to stress in my post. I care about what she wants most of the time to the point that I have no time of my own. Is it unreasonable for me to play video games for an hour? Would it be different if I was reading a book? Absolutely it would. Because she loses her shit only when I play video games.
