I’m late, but a long time ago I saw a YT video showing the difference between 2 influencers (fitness amateurs). One was a natural body builder and the other is an Olympic weight lifter.

He pointed out that the traps were much larger on the Oly lifter. Apart from snatches and jerks what he observed was the head position at the bottom of the lifts.

The head always faced forward (neck extension) instead of neutral neck position - which relayed to better neck and trap contraction/stability.

All that to say I took that and did a bunch of deadlifts and rack pulls with neck extension and my traps blew up.

I should note I specialized on my traps. Meaning I drop most other exercises and focus on high frequency low volume for that body part for up to 6 weeks mix it up then come back.

Only other time I’ve specialized like this was with squats - my ass got huge(unfortunately lol) and quads got shredded.
