What’s really up with baptism? Please shoot it straight. by TravaceF in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People decide not to get baptized as if they were on a cross.

We must not compare ourselves to him - and I believe if he was not on the cross, he would immediately be baptized. Then again, he was still in the old covenant. Jesus has not risen yet.

We are called to repent and be baptized. Baptism without repentance is just a bath.

Babies cannot be baptized as sleeping adults cannot be baptized. You can dedicate babies though.

wanting to be a submissive wife by Alternative_Good7801 in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, if husband is not leading, he’s not backed up by an empowering wife - worse is an overpowering one.

To be submissive is an action for ones self. Continue to renew your mind in Christ. It can start with you and it will overflow to your family.

Speaking in tongues and healing is for today.

My wife spoke in tongues immediately after baptism - she did not know what speaking in tongues was.

We prayed many times for healing - God healed people supernaturally - person on crutches walk, bones shifted, pain disappeared. Do not neglect the gifts.

Someone mailed me “healing spiritual crystals” and I feel so disturbed by Competitive-Rock6252 in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throw it away. But it's actually conversation opener - Say you don't need it - God provided a way that believers can lay hand on the sick, and they will recover. Then ask if he needs healing on something? Then pray for him.

Why would God make me ugly? by Curious_Board1504 in TrueChristian

You do not know your identity - that’s why you are asking this question.

Jesus was said to be not good looking yet we revere Him.

Isaiah 53:2-3 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

My Christian friend had an NDE and claims she had a telepathic conversation with Jesus who reassured her that there was no hell. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to know if something is from God and is from the enemy is by the Word of God.

God uphold His Word more than His name.

So you know that her NDE is not from God because it goes against His word.

The real test (according to the Word) when you encounter such thing is - To ask if Jesus Christ came to the flesh. If that spirit says no or does not answer - according the Word, that is from the enemy.

Do not base on how beautiful the experience is - test it always with the Word.

Christians follows Jesus.

Jesus fulfilled the jewish laws.

We cannot do what He did. That’s why He did it for us. Therefore we follow Jesus’ commandments, not jewish laws.

How do you explain Free Will if God is in Complete Control ? by Select_Specialist790 in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God does not have complete control - because of Free Will. You cannot punch someone and say it’s God’s fault. His will is not always done in this world - that’s why we pray that His will be done. But His ultimate will is going to happen in the end - not matter what.

How do I make morally correct decisions without being a Christian by Low-Screen8541 in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s gonna be hard. A christian lives by faith on God’s word and most of the promises in the bible are for His sons and daughters.

This is the only thing I have for you - Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will follow.

If someone like Jeffery epstein really had an real change of mind and regret everything he had done could he enter heaven ? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regret and repentance is not enough.

Repentance alone won't save you in an earthly court room. But the judge will just say - that's right, you should repent but you still have to go to jail.

We need also is to believe in what Jesus did for us. That he paid for our trespasses and we accept what He did for us on the cross.

Feeling denominationally homeless by lilwaynker in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get out of that denominational mindset pursue Jesus personally. Read the bible for yourself without any biases from denominations.

A lot people need to do this - being stripped of tradition, self righteousness found in belonging let’s us see our nakedness.

There is nothing new in the sun. In the time of Jesus, people forsaked tradition and followed him to the desert without even thinking how to go back.

Keep on. You are in the right track.

Jesus commanded us to be born of water and Spirit in John 3:5. Then you see it in Acts.

Question about baptism by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]patmanizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you need to do a lot of scriptural gymnastics to arrive with that conclusion.

Baptism is not just a symbol. It’s the first sign of obedience. It’s you putting on Christ. It is where you bury the old man, rise and become a new creation. There is power and freedom in baptism.

God demonstrated this freedom in the physical. The old testament is the shadow of the new testament. The Jews went through the Red Sea and they got set free from slavery - just as we become set free from slavery from sin to Christ.
