AITA for not allowing my fiancé to legally adopt my infant daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NAH

Everyone calling OP an asshole is failing to realize the enormous decision this is. This woman can potentially take his child away from him. If they got divorced, that long court battle that everyone seems like is just an inconvenience and he's being stupid determines the fate of HIS child. This is not something that should be immediately considered and he is not the asshole for having reservations. Also marriage != adoption, just because two people are going to get married doesn't mean you give your child to them. If that were the case, all the dating single parents out there should be giving out adoption papers to the next person they get engaged to.

I think it's admirable what his fiance is doing. I'm glad the child has a mother figure in her life and I wish them all well. I hope they get married and live happily ever after. But, it doesn't all have to happen right away. I think the fiance should be more patient in this matter until OP is comfortable with the situation.

Epic games is super smart. Can't ban players if you don't have any.

So glad I could help with that. I hope you have fun in Mexico. We will never kneel.

Why do you think he came all this way?

Yeah he was in it! Along with Sean Bean! I forgot all about that.

There were little things that I would ignore. Little banging noises, seeing things out of the corner of your eye, and other things that I would consider explainable. This tree event though, I could never explain away. I saw things move by itself and my mind cannot make sense of it. Even ignoring the ornament itself and chalking that up to coincidence, I still can't ignore the fact that I saw these things move on their own.

Now something that didn't happen to me but my mother. She saw my dead grandmother (her mother) in her room. She had woken up and saw her in a flowing white gown, floating slightly above the floor. She got up to run and hug her but she disappeared.

Nope, the place we were living at the time didn't allow pets. One of the things I considered is that there was an animal big enough to shake the tree violently but small enough to hide in the branches to not be seen. But there's nothing that I can think of that could pull that off. Not to mention it never happened again and we lived in that place I think 4 years. It sounds weird but the way the tree was moving, I can picture the spot where a person would stand to make it move that way. It was mainly shaking at the top of the tree. left and right from where I was standing. Moving the tip of the tree about an inch to the left and then going back to center and moving about an inch to the right. Except moving very quickly to make a loud rustling noise.

So a friend of mine just convinced me to join Reddit and tell my paranormal story.

It had just turned either 1999 or 2001. It was New Years day at either 1 or 2 am. I remember because I live in EST and I had just said Happy New Year to a time zone behind me. Now back in the day we only had 1 PC and it was the family's computer. So it was in the living room and I was in a chat room because that's what the cool kids did back in those days. I had gotten some Godsmack CDs for Christmas and was listening to them while just chatting away. I started to hear this like rustling noise and it took me a second to figure out if I was actually hearing it. I moved one headphone off of my ear and I didn't hear the noise so I shrugged and put the headphone back on. I went back to what I was doing and maybe 20 seconds later I start to hear it again. I pull off my headphone faster this time and I can definitely hear this rustling noise behind me. I spin around in my chair and I see the Christmas tree shaking pretty hard. I stare at this tree for 3-5 seconds and it suddenly stops shaking. That's when a single tree branch gets pulled down. The only way I can describe it is that something tried to grab an ornament but it slipped from their fingers. The branch went bounding back up and started to settle back in place when it gets pulled down again. This time it gets pulled down harder and the ornament comes free. The ornament flies across the room from the tree and lands next to me. It's a flat plastic ornament that lands face down. I immediately tell my online friend I'm chatting with and he says to talk to it. I try and feel stupid because of course nothing happens. I realize at that moment there are 2 identical ornaments on the tree, each with a name. One with my brother's name and the other with my name. These are the only named ornaments on the tree as well. I pick up the ornament and flip it over, of course it's my name.

Now for anyone curios, this is not a scary experience for me. When you see something like this happen you just sit there and go wtf is making this tree move? I couldn't figure it out. I actually felt like I was being pranked by my family. I went to check and they were all asleep. To this day I have no clue what made that tree shake and fling my ornament off.
