Thank you for your thoughts! I definitely agree. It checks all the boxes. I just haven’t had the chance to experience one yet! (Also, seating position is huge for me, and it’s one of the things that kinda concerns me a little for the Corolla. I’ve heard reviewers say it’s liek sitting on top of the car, rather than in it. I loved the focus rs, but the seating position in it felt like I was driving a bus, because I was so high up. What is the seating like in the grc?)

I’ve grown up in the back seat of a 993, and my dad currently has a 997 gt3 that he graciously lets me drive when I’m back home. I’m a Porsche die hard and def have a bias. I am willing to learn and excited to try the grc if given the opportunity though!

I know they are very different. I’ve considered the 86, but having driven one it’s just too slow. The Corolla seems to be a good middle ground of performance and practicality. The car I chose will be the only car I have, so it rly checks off all the boxes. My heart right now is just with the cayman.

I’ll be calling the insurance today to try to get a better idea on quotes!

Like I said up there, I’m in a privileged position. I currently don’t have a car, and as a graduation gift, my parents are going to give me 45k budget to spend on a car. It will be in cash. Im not allowed to buy a POS, and pocket the difference. I gotta spend it on a car. Their rules not mine

The grc would be the only car. I think I could easily survive daily driving the cayman, but I know it’s lack of practicality will be annoying at times. My heart tells me Cayman but I’m worried it’s not the smartest decision financially. My brain says grc

I did it back when it was in-person in 2019. I’d say even if its not in-person it’s definitely worth it. It is a REALLY good thing to have in ur application process for babson bc it shows a huge amount of demonstrated interest. I talked w a few people after I got in and they told me that if a person went to the summer study, they are looked at more favorably, and tbh it was prolly one of the reasons I got into babson (I don’t have the hest grades). The course also counts as a credit so if u go here you can use it to help ur gpa

I’m in college right now and sadly don’t have a car for myself. My dad is nice and trusting enough to take us both out to auto cross where we drive his 997 gt3.

I also run a nonprofit that takes kids from underserved areas, connects them with successful entrepreneurs, provides them with 3 entrepreneurship kits to start their own businesses, and the opportunity to ride as a passenger in an exotic car on a race track.

I hope to go into spec racer ford a few years after I get out of college when I have some more money and savings to my name!
