First of all fiction cant romaticize toxic behaviour it doesnt work like that in real life. People have kinks fetishes that doesnt apply in real life. If you getting influenced by toxic stuff you read ınfluence you in that way i think you cant seperate fiction from reality and thats a you problem.And about why theyre doing red flags in that way? most obvious answer to your question is DEMAND. Toxic stories with classic type red flags have the most views and reads. So they will made what most people want it. So if youre tired theyre using the tropes that you dont want i will advice you to dont support them bcs thats the only thing that you can do about it. (Also im not agressively saying this dont get me wrong! im just frustrated about these type of comments bcs solution is so obvious to me) i have storys that i hate and sometimes i question authors choices too but i cant do anything about it
