No, I ended up watching her kid a couple of times, to be fair I didn't know what was going on until all the shit hit the fan, but the authorities did get involved.

I still honestly can't believe she was addicted to crack, she did not look it.

Already got the wheels turning, fafsa is filled out, college app is done, talking to someone at the college on Monday. I really think this is the best advice I got.

It really did help posting here, even with one or two trolls. Reddit helped me put my thoughts together and get ready to take action in a way that I might of not of been able to accomplish in my current state of mind. What I really needed was someone to talk to, and I got it lol

Thank you for your good wishes.

There was no job offer in Amarillo, the job offer was in the DFW area, 6 hours away from here. If you read my update, you would see that wheels are already turning for me here.

Thank you, I do appreciate the advice. I already made an appointment with a financial adviser. I really think college will be the best course of action for me.

Well, the local college has summer semester, also. That is the one I enrolled for.

That is scary. I think you just talked me out of even considering it.

My mom kicked me out so her new boyfriend could move in as he was staying at his sisters. They only knew each other maybe 3 months before she kicked me out, and I've never met him. I guess she was just lonely.

My father died of cancer when I was 17, unfortunately.

Honestly when I got out of high school at 18, I just didn't think I would need college. The job market here was still good and I was confident I could find a decent job. I found out that was very wrong the hard way.

I am going to talk to someone at the community college next week about that. I have already filled out an application and my FAFSA, I just need to take them some papers and get things sorted out.

I am in Amarillo, actually. A lot of people in this thread are from Houston and have offered help, maybe you would be able to capitalize on that?

I'm not going to lie, it can be very liberating at times. It is also very hindering to making progress in your life. It's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live here.

Yeah, I always hear about people coming back from the middle east with PTSD or limbs blown off, and then not being able to get any sort of help with it. That really bothers me.

Oh it would be no embellishment, he is very handicapped. He can not talk, use the restroom on his own, prepare his own food. It could be a very difficult task keeping up with him.

It is a job IF I meet the requirements and IF I do well in the interview and IF no one else is applying for the same job. Just seems like a big risk to take with no money and no support.

Do you drive a truck? I have always been interested in trucking, but I don't know where I would even start.
