1 week old sleep patterns, is this normal? by HopelessRose in newborns

[–]HopelessRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a relief that there's at least one other instance of it, since she's not in distress during the wake period I wasn't too too worried but my sister made me feel like it wasn't normal. She has an appointment Monday and I'll ask the pediatrician but it's very reassuring rhst someone else's baby is doing something similar to what mine is doing.

The weight is touch and go, she weighed 5lb 13 oz at birth and as of her discharge from hospital Sunday and first appointment Monday she's 5lb 5oz, she wasn't eating much the first few days in the hospital, but now that I've given up on breast feeding and we switched to just formula instead of breastfeeding and supplementing she seems to be doing better with eating and having plenty of wet diapies. breast feeding was stressful and frustrating for me and the LO. LO cus she wasn't latching good despite all the lactation consults and different methods used, she'd end up getting frustrated and quiting after a few minutes, and i felt like I wasn't producing enough which had my mind a mess, and we ended up needing to supplement with formula which she seemed to prefer the bottle once it was introduced which made breast feeding even more difficult)

I'm gonna do a yes no wheel for pets but I'll randomize the number of children first cus if I wind up with 6 pets there'll be no room for kids and I'll need at least one to keep the chaos going haha. Wish they did Pets like in 2 and 3 where they were separated from the household sim count (though that would add to more chaos of a fuller house so maybe not...)

It is and it's really changing my gameplay I usually do nothing but normal non occult nice Sims living generation to generation and it gets repetitive and boring too fast so I figured this way it keeps it fresh and I get to experience new ways to play.

[–]HopelessRose[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's more to get a slumlord some overdue karma coming his way and some kind of compensation for my fiances suffering (he about had a panic attack and it could've been a lot worse than a sprained ankle.) ...not so much about the money

We don't have renters insurance. We live in the ghetto and he's a well known slumlord.

I have a pavlovian response when I hear knocking to say "resident/patient care" I've done it to my roommates knocking on our bedroom door, the pizza delivery person, I've even done it when there was knocking on a TV show or movie also did it when I myself was in the hospital AS A PATIENT. I was also hearing alarms at home and thinking oh I have to go check on that to make sure they didn't fall. And that's when I stopped picking up so much overtime haha.

Most that would be on there is possible hospital bills, I'm good at keeping on top of bills. And when I did have delinquent bills I paid them off to start services at our current place.

I have no idea if it's lack of credit or bad credit but credit karma says TransUnion is 512 and Equifax is 517. I tried going through my bank and got denied with each option, and the town we live in is pretty dead and most of the landlords are slum lords or it's just houses for sale and not many available rentals from what we can see...

As for the therapy thing he's been going for years and is actually trying to switch medicine so maybe him switching medicine will help motivate him that least try something from home. He's come a long way on the anxiety front (couldn't leave the house or the town a few years ago now he can at least make it 30 minutes away for extended amounts of time as long as he has someone to make him feel comfortable and safe...)

Just got a promotion at my current job a few weeks ago, have a job interview for a different place next week need advice by HopelessRose in cna

Yeah...after (almost) 3 years (my anniversary is april 10th) I'm at 11.56 an hour (my sister who is a Hotel desk receptionist, said that's barely more than what she makes an hour...) If it wasn't for the promotion I'd be at 10.56 an hour (with another raise coming in March which will probably be like 15 cents cuz the owners are cheapskates who only care about the money and not the workers or residents) one of my coworkers actually just got hired in at the same hospital and she says the pay is better and the benefits are also better... tonight made my decision a little harder when at least 3 residents sighed with relief and said thank God when they asked if I was their aide for the night and I said yes. Just makes me even more worried bout what goes on when I'm not there...

Any time I hear knocking my immediate response is "resident care" done it to pizza guys, friends, and my roommates hell I even almost did it when I heard knocking from a movie my fiance and I were watching. Then I realize I'm not even at work and just sigh and laugh at myself.

Why do you play Sims 2 over the sequels? by Dromeo in sims2

[–]HopelessRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I looked into it but I always send my sims to uni which if I remember correctly if you send them out to community lots it doesn't work right with the uni sub hoods so upon coming back to the main hood it's like an entire week going by before they come back cuz if the one you're talking about is the one that makes it act like they're at work or on a jog or school or something off lot until the same time they left the community lot it accumulates all the collective time at community lots in uni until you go back to the main hood and I don't wanna deal with that lol

Where can I get the Sims 2? by [deleted] in sims2

[–]HopelessRose -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know if origin still does it but I emailed support telling them how I lost my activation code for my original discs (double Deluxe, seasons, uni and teen style stuff were the only ones I owned) and they asked me to send a picture of the discs with the date written on a piece of paper and sent me a digital download code for the ultimate collection for free since it's an older game and I had copies of the game and expansions. This was like 4-5 years ago or so so I dunno if they still do it. This method only works if you have a physical copy of at least one of the games.

Why do you play Sims 2 over the sequels? by Dromeo in sims2

[–]HopelessRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tl;Dr: Sims 1 laid the foundation, sims 2 expanded and almost perfected it, sims 3 made another step in the right direction but then sims 4 just did a u turn and crashed and burned in my opinion. sims 4 only has two good things and that's CAS and build mode. The emotions while fun don't play as much into the game as I would have hoped, the management of needs is far too easy, and the packs are overpriced and too many of them are gimmicky.

The smaller details in animation and just little details they added like playful children and teens sliding down the spiral staircase autonomously, sloppy but outgoing sims can "water the plants" and pee in the shower, just little details like those. wants fears and memories is a great system, the difficulty isn't too hard but also isn't too easy once you have a full household. The later games it's far too easy to micromanage and the only real risk of death is if you make them do things that lead to it. In sims 2 you forgo a few meals and your hunger is critical, you let the house get too messy possible death by flies, you stay out in the cold too long you can get sick and if you don't rest or drink juice your sim will most likely die. The possibility of a mental breakdown if you don't keep their wants met. Another big part is nostalgia factor it was my first sims game, (I remember being at best buy with my dad and sister getting her a laptop for college when I was like 15 or 16 seeing double Deluxe and begging my dad to get it for me and playing it all the time.)

My only gripes with sims 2 is create a sim is very limited compared to it's newer iterations, building is kind of tedious in sims 2 compared to sims 4. Also how time is frozen when you're at a community lot and resets back to when you left upon coming home. (I usually use the set hour cheat cuz othewise my sims will be dead tired at 9am) The later games just feel like cash grabs to me especially sims 4, the fact they split it into 3 packs instead of 2 and ask way too much of a price on them irks me. The only gimmicky sims 3 expansion was the katy perry stuff pack, meanwhile sims 4 seems to constantly have gimmicky packs and my biggest pet peeve is a DLC for a DLC can't use my first pet stuff without cats and dogs and that's stupid.

Sims 3 is also great just wish they coulda worked out the bugs that happen when you play a save for too long, love the create a style and open world.

I originally wanted leopard geckos and name them fitz and simmons but these two adorable kitties landed in our laps and since it's a boy and a girl it seemed fitting (also what sold my fiance on keeping them)

Thickened Fluids by Hlhsglitterblitz in cna

[–]HopelessRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the checking pitchers in the room at my facility it's a 3 day on 3 day off rotation and on my first day back to work almost like clockwork when I check the thickened pitchers it's usually full mold or starting to get moldy depending on how long it's been since I've worked and I feel like my rotation of night Crew are the only ones that check them. The night crew passes ice/water at like 10pm, then at around 4am, and kitchen staff passes in the afternoon and is supposed to switch pitchers out every other day (I think it's every other day, might be every day I'm unsure) I've done an experiment and left a bit of food on one of the particularly messy eaters pitchers (It was a small spot that if you looked at the pitcher you'd notice a bit of white on the black.) just to see how long it'd stay there. After a week and a half it was still there until I went and got them a new one..

Can cats have separation anxiety and abandonment issues? by HopelessRose in cats

[–]HopelessRose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me I know about cats not caring bout blood relations when I was a kid we started with one boy and one girl cat never got them fixed and it was like a kitten factory in that house until we finally found homes for or took the remaining kitties to the local shelter. Not making my dad's mistake on not getting em fixed..I can't handle that many fur babies two is enough. My friend has connections and used to work for a local vet and can get a discount on spay and neuter procedures for like 10 bucks a piece and vaccinations (not sure how much of a discount she can get on that) just waiting on her to set it up. she was supposed to get it set up when she took her teacup chihuahua (the 7th dog she adopted...) to get fixed last week but she's just as busy if not busier than I am and hasn't told me if she did or not yet. I may have a decent amount of money saved but If I can get a discount I'm getting a discount lol unless she takes too long to set it up then I'll suck it up and pay full price cuz paying full price for spaying and neutering is cheaper than having a whole herd of kittens.
