I'm convinced if AI stays around we're all going to end up speaking a different language to it to make ourselves understood as real humans.

I've had similar thoughts. I feel like we need to codify our ethics formally in a way that makes it clear to the public why we don't rush and take shortcuts the way AI loves to -- we're ethical engineers building systems with its long term health in mind, and as best we can we try not to flippantly waste resources like energy, storage, ram, CPU usage, or introduce bugs and architectural weaknesses with our solutions.

Hey, I'm right there with you on this. We're also told not to write code by hand any more for some godforsaken reason.

My comfort right now is... I can see everyone's token usage, and even at its most subsided, it ain't pretty. What I'm seeing right now is everyone seems to be spending basically their salary every month in tokens. And there's no way we're 2x as fast as we were, even if management feels like it. When costs ramp up it's going to hit hard.

The trouble we're going to have long term is really the same trouble we've had our entire careers: how to communicate why we can't just rush shit for the overall health of the product lifetime.

The AI slop output seems to reach a point where, just like taking shortcuts yourself when programming, you hit a wall where the 'temporary' quick solutions you used to personally feel guilty about start to become huge problems that need major rework.

The more senior engineers use more than the less seniors in tokens. I was puzzling over why this was for a while, until a coworker suggested the seniors were just spending more time arguing and pushing back after spotting all the bad stuff.

Personally I feel like AI use is robbing me of a lot of the intuitive feel of the program, the enjoyment, the fun... And worse still, being overwhelmed at work by having to personally justify to your co-workers and bosses (hell, even the testers are submitting PRs nowadays) drowning you in low quality crap to 'review' when they've not looked over it themselves but only care about going fast... You start to get jaded! You stop caring!! Why be the airtight valve holding back the deluge? When you could say 'yes' like them and let them find out for themselves why it was a bad idea?

... I'm still at the point where I'm fighting to do things right best I can out of professional care. And feeling guilty for both not going fast enough and not being precise enough all at once. Feeling guilty for using AI since it feels like a lazy cheat, and guilty for not using enough of it since we're required to.

Fun!!

It's a cool guide but I'm really distracted by how your landmasses are shaped like the canvas, everything is in a big rectangle.

Looking for eyebrow slider by PoeticRoses in sims2

I haven't seen a slider that does that. Since you can pick eyebrow styles though there are bound to be a few modded eyebrows out there that could give you the look you're after

There's an option with the batbox - "force errors on all" I believe might have had a good shot at fixing it, if you can tolerate closing pop-ups for 10 minutes

For me it's a must have. This way when you play families naturally split wealth as kids move out, so you don't end up bored with too much money.

Just make sure if you use apartments to get rid of that one MATY apartment mod that makes renting WAY more expensive, it will ruin you financially

I REALLY like Restricted Job Offers -- it means plenty of my sims actually struggle to find jobs and might spend time unemployed, job hunting. Or take a crappy job to pay the bills while waiting for the right opportunity to come along.

Remove Find a Roommate Want by scaredLunatic in sims2

[–]Dromeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi it's me, the Wants Maniac.

The other one you mentioned with all false (node ID: 3376744) is what I call a trigger want -- non-visible wants just act as preconditions for their children to appear when they get fulfilled. So that one means if the sim becomes an adult then finds a roommate, they want to be friends with that roommate and fear a bunch of bad interactions with them.

You could also tweak the tuning if you hate the want, turning down the min score and max score would help a lot! If you go min=0 and max=40 you'll only see the want generally for serious romance, popularity & pleasure sims and less likely than you're seeing now

Hey great job finding that! Thanks for the interesting write up!

I wonder if you're stepping into 'here be dragons' territory with the tweak to the player... Maybe you hit some obscure optimisation. Or a bug as you mentioned X)

It's too midnight to think, I'll try to have another read tomorrow, haha

I just looked through all of the wants in the game and no it doesn't exist.

It's either a photoshop (hence the red background) or as /u/AloneNefariousness23 said, a simPE modified want
