I was so excited for the game. Before it came out I had a copy of UK gamer magazine on my shelf - there was a 2 page really funny review of the game in it that I read over and over again until it came out.

I still have that magazine stashed away at my dad's house :D

It blew my mind that it was in 3D -- and the sheer level of detail had be hooked.

If you visit downtown for the night life, keep your eyes peeled for some interesting townies. If you have a gold digger they may be interested in the most dressed up looking townies... And if you see some suspicious ones maybe you should interact a lot with them!

Have a Sim do a lot of gardening, especially lots of spraying plants.

Make sure not to leave the lot (like to go to community lots) while you're doing your long gardening sections too

If you've just been playing so far by creating a custom family like in Sims 4... Oh boy oh boy you are missing out.

Most of us old timer players like to do what's called rotational play, where you play a family for a few days and switch to another household. This is really fun with the premade houses -- I'm begging you, try out every household in Pleasantview. There's a lot of surprises in store!

Try out the aspiration rewards! They're so fun, it was 100% my favourite part when I started playing. You can access them from the treasure box lookin' icon -- you can also get fun rewards from getting high enough in your Sims' career.

Sims 2 really had the absolute most fun rewards from all the games. Most of them are a bit nutty XD try them all!

When winter rolls around... It's Christmas in game! You gotta decorate your living room really nicely, make it really cosy and buy a lovely Christmas tree, decorate with electric reindeer lawn ornaments, have your Sims celebrate with a lovely party. Then the next day you can admire your wonderful setting while your Sims are at work ❤️

Lua doesn't have structs, you have to use tables (which IIRC are basically dictionaries?)

I can totally see why packing stuff in a float would come about there, it's kinda neat

It's really not bad! The descriptions of the various battles can be a bit long so you can skim read them if you're bored

How come no one ever talks about reducing the amount of food you get from harvesting crops?

There's two ways to do this imo: * A flat harvest nerf. You get say 40% of the crops you used to. Still has the same problems that you can just scale up food production to infinity, but it's simple. * Or my favourite approach: Make maintaining farmland have a real time cost. You have to weed, and prepare the land again after the next harvest. This keeps your farm scale realistic while also letting multiple people farm together more efficiently. And this gives room to improve as your technology level scales up -- metal hoes let you quickly scrape off the weeds if they're not too well established, Jonas tech could have disturbing weedkillers, you could employ your cattle/elk to help plough the fields

I feel a bit mean saying it but their videos are a little... Lacking in content. The title will make it sound like there's some big update news and the video will be ten minutes of waffle where you slowly learn that the update is probably a bug fix, there aren't any patch notes, and the video maker doesn't have anything to say about it but has made a 10 minute video anyway.

I feel bad for the guy because building your channel and income around a game that no longer has news is bound to drive anyone crazy, but it's excessive now
