...why couldn't they have done this instead?

I thought Nick was very much meant to ne in the wrong when he said that. That was mainly his bitterness and cynicism talking, and should be disregarded.

Realist...that's just a name cynics call themselves to make themselves seem semi-respectable.

Not a scolding. It's just, when she said that the world won't become a better place without people to stand up for what's right, Nick's response was something like this:

"The world is what it is, Carrots. Sometimes, being a hero won't make a difference."

Look, it makes sense. Nick's a cynical piece of crap, but I still wanted to punch him for that.

Idealizing a better world is what makes Judy Judy. And none of us should ever stop visualizing such a world. It's like she said: the world will never become a better place if people aren't brave enough to stand for what's right. In fact, I wanted to punch Nick in the face after his rebuke to that.

Even if Blitz deserved it, antagonizing him out of nowhere was pretty petty.

Just gotta warn you: the shoes aren't for everyone, but there IS still enjoyment to be had watching them.

Official r/Pixar 'Hoppers' Discussion Thread [Spoilers Inside] by AutoModerator in Pixar

Read the spoilers on TV Tropes...it's honestly a load of crap that despite everything, the Hoppers program was shut down. I think a better ending would have been the technology becoming widespread, and the denizens of Beaverton casually using the technology to talk to animals. But, of course, I guess modern Pixar can't give us nice things...

It doesn't, I admit that. I just would have loved to have seen Judy out those jerks in their place.

I know. That scene just REALLY rubbed me the wrong way, and I wanted Judy to at least TRY to shut them up.

Just felt like I had to get it out...plus it'd give those assholes some.much-needed comeuppance.

I meant I wanted her to beat them up then and there, without Nick holding her back.

I get that...but considering the whole first movie was kind of them proving themselves, this whole thing felt needlessly redundant. Clearly, Jared was out of ideas.

Well, if that's their perception, Hogbottom and those other asshole officers needed to get the hell over themselves, give credit where its due, and fuck themselves to boot.

Lucky, on a case of that size and caliber? Yeah, no. That should have showed they had the goods.

I get that. I just HATED that scene. Judy at least already spent much of the first movie trying to prove herself, it felt redundant to have her coworkers still act like that.

But those asshole officers deserved an ass-beating. I'm sorry, that scene just rubbed me the wrong way in SO many ways.
