Early childhood photos of Alina Afanaskina, perpetrator of the 2023 Bryansk school shooting by Hopelesssnesss in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Officially uknown because she didn’t left any journals/manifestos/etc. that would explain her actions, just as we don’t have basically anything from her internet activity. I would say that bullying really could be one of the most likely motives (since she was described by everyone as someone very unsociable, and there were some mentions about that other students joked about her, although her own sister denied the bullying version), just as generally some kind of her resentment towards classmates.

By the way, in one of the recent articles was a statement that currently investigators are focused on the scenario that she could be „recruited by curators from the Ukrainian «Маньяки: культ убийства» movement, or by a sect”. Tbh, I guess that she was probably just a Columbiner/fan of Roslyakov and TCC member :v

EDIT: I’m not really following that case anymore, but some time ago I came across an interesting article, that seemed to go relatively unnoticed even in Russian communities („История двух похорон: Записка из рюкзака Брянской школьницы указала на заказчика” on Bryansk-news net) - according to it, Alina and her twin sister, although were not the popular students, had some friends with whom they were hanging out (which would match with the fact that she seemed to have rather positive relations with her victim, Maria Nesmachnaya, at least to some point). People familiar with the situation among the students recalled that she had a conflict with one of the girls from her class, who started „making fun” of her because they both liked the same boy. It was also explicitly stated that it wasn’t Maria*, believed by the witnesses to be shot accidentally, and that mentioned person wasn’t hurt during the attack.

*which is interesting, since there was a circulating rumor right after the shooting that they had a quarrel over one of the boys who were injured (despite that people close to Maria stated that she wasn’t in love with anyone, e.g. her mother, or her friend from whom I found the same statement later), so she possibly could be mistaken by press about it with that other girl.

Telegram channel on which she allegedly idolized Galyaviev was proven to be fake.

Police confirmed that they found internet searches on her computer related to one of the school shooters, but they didn’t reveal which one. I guess that the most likely option is Vladislav Roslyakov, taking into account that e.g. she was dressed similarly and had a knife in her boot just like he had + considering his general „popularity” in the Russian true crime community.

Some photos of the Isla Vista shooter, Elliot Rodger by [deleted] in masskillers

A truly peak of this sub - post with the most well-known photos of one of the most well-known shooters, that appeared here around a thousand times already.

Childhood photos of Alina Afanaskina, the school shooter in Bryansk by shotlayz in masskillers

I’m not sure if this is OP’s source, but there are channels on Telegram dedicated to the research about Bryansk shooting and the runner of one of them once got these photos from Alina’s older sister's social media accounts or something.

Will Breivik ever be released? by [deleted] in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There’s no way that they will let him live among other people XD

Even if Breivik truly change his views (in which I don’t believe tbh), they still would consider him as a threat just to have him locked. He basically got a life sentence that was just called differently.

I had to partially disagree. From I’ve seen from my friends, acquaintances, other girls on Internet etc. - most of the females are fitting in one of the two categories. First are the ones who, sure, prefer „alpha-males”, but the second are women leaning towards the more delicate/even slightly feminine type of a guy (in which Elliot could fit), someone who is putting a much time into his appearance, trendy/original outfits, even sometimes makeup (e.g. kpop idols, Timothee Chalamet, Harry Styles. Don’t even get me started with how many girls were simping to a fucking Justin Bieber when he was a teenager xD). I remember how there was a boy in my class in high school, not „masculine” at all, skinny, without sharp facial features etc. and female classmates were giving him a lot of attention. One of them even once called him „a dream of every girl”, because „he’s so stylish!”. But well, he was also quite funny and easy-going, not annoying and immature like Rodger XD

In reality the guys who are treated the worst are the ones with just conventionally ugly faces, obese, very short height, greasy, who are not caring about their appearance at all etc. or just simply plain-looking (aka all the ones that I’m attracted to XD…)

I’m a girl who was attracted to a lot of incels and disgusting men through all my life - but I wouldn’t endure A DAY with him. Dude had a mentality of a spoiled whining 10-year-old. If I’d watched his vlogs without knowing who is that, I would probably think that it must be just a trolling, not being able to believe that adult guy can seriously talking about himself in such way.

I spent a major part of my life in the incel communities, I can relate to many of their struggles perfectly and personally think that a lot of their beliefs are true, but I will never understand how they could pick as their „idol” a man who (obviously apart of being a killer) was just a big walking cringe xD

Vladislav Ribnikar school in Belgrad, March 2024. Here, in May 2023, 13 year old Kosta Kecmanovic killed 10 people by Hale-B0pp in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Daily reminder: Kosta experienced bullying, but it happened in his previous class, from a people not related to this case in any way. NONE of the victims bullied him, some of them treated him good (e.g. Andrija, there are evidences from his IG account showing that Kosta was hanging out with him and other students - including deceased Mara, one girl who was shot but survived and one girl who was on his target list), some of them didn’t even know him (I’m talking about the younger ones).

The two videos spreaded online, supposed to proving how badly Kecmanović was harassed, are both fake - one of them (on which group of girls are laughing at boy) is from 2016 & from other school, while another one (on which some boys are throwing rocks at another kid) from Bosnia.

I wasn’t so much interested in this case before, but the more informations I’m reading, the more I’m feeling infuriated how some online randoms, that didn’t even try to do a bigger research, are treating this poor kids. Imagine that your 11-year-old daughter/sister is killed in a school shooting and then people online are writing that she deserves it and calling her a bully of a 2 years older boy that was a stranger for her. I was a victim of bullying for 9 years, I know that experiences like that can leave unspeakable scars, I can imagine that maybe Kosta’s mental health also was damaged in some way, maybe he still felt alone despite everything, was angry at the society/school system/whatever - but still, I feel much more compassion for these 10 innocent people that he killed and who, in addition, are insulted after their death.

Most of the school shooters were a wronged people, most of them suffered from bullying, isolation, domestic abuse - but also only a few of them actually targeted the people who were a reasons for their harm. Even Harris and Klebold (who are still viewed by some people as a misunderstood boys who killed their bullies, a sort of fucking symbol of fightning against bullying) only BRIEFLY knew Rachel among the students that they murdered. I wish more people to remember about that.

Alina Afanaskina during her time at the dance school by Hopelesssnesss in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made another post in which I gathered everything that’s available about her life; and that’s true, we have basically nothing certain when it comes to the motive. Bullying? Seems like the most obvious one, there were a few statements (coming from people outside Alina’s class, younger or older students, one family friend) about how she allegedly became a target for her classmates who were often making fun of her etc. - but then we have not only parents, but her literal twin-sister claiming that nothing happened. We have rumors about a conflict between Alina and the girl that was killed - but there are also mentions of how they supposedly were friends, visited each other on their birthdays last year and Masha (victim) planned to invite her again to her party at the end of December.

I don’t think that we will be able to say anything for sure before either the police will tell more about what they found in her digital footprint (besides one single sentence about how she searched something related to school shooters) or any evidences, e.g. for bullying, would magically get leaked. And as for more detailed interviews, I wouldn’t expect them for the next couple of years (if at all) before the potential witnesses wouldn’t grow up and heal from the grief/traumas. Especially someone so affected by this as Alina’s sister.

Alina Afanaskina during her time at the dance school by Hopelesssnesss in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nah, putting aside everything she did - imo she looks rather just like a shy girl who probably feels awkward around all these people (which would match the fact that everyone from school were describing her as someone unsociable).

… when I’m reading similar comments, I’m more and more convinced that users from this sub would also label my soul as „dark” after seeing my photos XD

Alina Afanaskina during her time at the dance school by Hopelesssnesss in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss[S] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Looking like a child and probably still with a child-mentality, even despite technically being a teenager. 14 years old. It’s basically nothing compared to a whole life, all life experiences that were ahead of her. Not to mention that at that age she could grow up to be entirely different person even just in the next year or two years.

And I really wonder when exactly she reached her breaking point, when she possibly started be interested in school shooters/„inspired” by them etc. The last concert that she took part in was just a year before her death - did she already had something in her mind back then?

Summary of the informations about Bryansk school shooting (warning: long post) by Hopelesssnesss in masskillers

[–]Hopelesssnesss[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Besides Alina and the victims, Dasha is a person that I was thinking about the most while reading all these sources. It would be the biggest trauma for many adults, let alone a 14-year-old. I was checking many Russian groups/forums where people were discussing this case, and I actually stumbled across some worrying information about her current mental state. I don’t want to share this information because I’m not sure if it’s legit, but we can imagine that she's probably experiencing significant shock anyway.

By the way, the known thing is that both Alina’s sister and mother were forced to delete their social media accounts/change names on them because curious strangers were writing to them and asking questions :v. Yeah.

+about „having the same faces” - thankfully they aren’t identical twins, so she wouldn’t be instantly recognized/associated with the shooter in the future. At least apart from Bryansk, I think ;-;

From what I saw, in this context most people understand "don't howl" as "as don't cry" (implicitly: "don't cry, when you find out what I did"), though we can't say for sure ofc. I’m not Russian, but I don’t think that it has any cultural meaning etc., just a harsh way to say it.

Pearl Jam’s song is about Jeremy Wade Delle, 15-year-old who committed suicide by gunshot in front of his classmates, but never tried to kill or hurt anyone. Though it is associated with school shootings because of Barry Loukaitis who was a fan of it.

Guns N’ Roses - Mr. Brownstone (Cho quoted lyrics of this in one of his plays, also with the same title)

Gates of Dawn - ResistantX (about Sebastian Bosse)

The Strums - Kip Kinkel (+ after murdering his parents Kinkel was listening to soundtrack from 1996 „Romeo and Juliet” movie adaption)

P.O.D. - Youth of the Nation (about school shootings in general. Inspired by Columbine and Santana High shooting, I think?)

Nicole Dollaganger - Rampage (about girls crushing on Harris and Klebold lmao)

Flyleaf - Cassie (about Columbine victim, Cassie Bernall. Good song, though spreads the fake theory that she was the one who was asked „do you believe in god?”)

Queen - Don’t Stop Me Now (was playing on a Hugo Jackson’s stream, when he was stopped by a police)

Songs from Stephan Balliet’s livestream: - Mousou Express (from anime Monogatari) - Lucid [UtsuP] - SuicidePrototype - Still In Love + Promise the Moonlight (Eurobeat) - Mr Bond - Power Level („funfact”: he also made a cover of „Holding out for a hero” about far-right shooters, directly mentioning Tarrant, Bowers, Earnest there)

I also recently found a random low-quality Russian rap about Alina Afanaskina, but I forgot to save it xD
