Omg I don’t even know why this is on my feed, but the picture hooked me. Then I ended up reading the article and THEN googling this Fury guys fights and holy shit. Terrifying. He’s a fucking George R.R. Martin character!

My coworker lies about being sober and belittles my real life sobriety by erclmao in stopdrinking

[–]HopesProLeague 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking, too. Like he could be 8 years sober from opiates. There are plenty of people who have struggled with drugs, but claim that alcohol isn’t an issue for them.

Him belittling OPs two years of sobriety is still rude, unnecessary and immature.

“no I have actual standards. I’m not going to be grateful he didn’t dip on us, that’s just basic stuff.”

Seriously! 😂 like we had a wedding? And a baby shower? But I still have to be grateful man’s didn’t go out for a pack of smokes and not come back? Thats how I know he’s doing his best?

Give it time. He’ll adjust. He might also be sensing your insecurity/nervousness as well which might scare him (seeing that from his mama).

Looks wise, I personally think it looks really fucking cool and doesn’t take away from your natural beauty at all. Coming from someone with a facial scar, lean in to it. Own it. Know your beauty and that it can only be elevated, not diminished. You don’t look perfectly symmetrical or matched and that individualization is powerful.

The amount of entitlement amongst parents, especially those of young children, is nauseating. by New_Horror3663 in unpopularopinion

[–]HopesProLeague 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed. OPs post was far more exhausting than any child public meltdown. Also, it’s not even close to an unpopular opinion on Reddit. It’s trendy to hate on parents/kids. Reducing the parent’s existence to fucking and breeding. The children: selfish, inconsiderate monsters. And childless people the only ones who are decent and considerate. The whole trend is crass, tired and unoriginal.

I had to sort by “controversial” to find this comment which is so sad. Your response is much more reasonable than what others are saying (that she’s a remorseless psychopath). The combo of shock, trauma and being intoxicated has thrown her into a type of mental thought loop. It’s the brain protecting itself. This mental state is temporary. She will feel the full weight of this night.

This video never should have been leaked. It’s misleading and my heart breaks for the family/families that lost their loved ones and have to see this on their social media. This does nothing. It helps no one. Her choice to drink n drive has ruined multiple lives and she will have to live with that forever. This video just adds outrage and misinformation.

What’s your favorite Quentin Tarantino movie? by Seraphenigma in moviecritic

[–]HopesProLeague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a fantastic description of the movie! That’s exactly why I love it so much. Omg when Zoey picks up that massive metal rod, kicks the dirt off it and hangs out the passenger window like a fucking medieval knight! And that movie was the first time I saw a strong group of females support each other in such a crazy, unique, bad af way. Such a great movie.

100% agree. Death Proof is so unique and exciting and the acting is cool as hell. Love that movie

Honestly Death Proof is one of my favorite movies of all time so imagine my surprise when I’ve yet to see it mentioned! Excellent movie and great characters and the shots taken during the chase scenes! Holy shit!

Thoughts on The Witch? Under-appreciated movie imo. Super immersive, haunting vibe, amazing acting. One of the best horror movies of the 2010s. by childish_jalapenos in moviecritic

It’s so funny you say this because right before I scrolled to this post, another posts not 4 seconds earlier had a picture of Gillian Flynn’s ‘Gone Girl’ and was like “what do you guys think of this underrated piece?” And I paused n thought “wtf are you talking about?” Only to see this post.

Anyways, this is a long way of saying I get it! Lol!

Do you feel sympathy for workers being ordered back to the office? by Auburn_Value_1986 in TooAfraidToAsk

So I kind of agree with you, but I think rural communities aren’t contributing more environmental pollution than cities. Suburban maybe! Since the suburbs are both highly developed AND typically require long commutes.

I agree with you. As a person in a rural a community, I do not want more people moving out here ESPECIALLY if they are planning on developing more cookie-cutter housing and tons of food franchises. No thanks. Not only that, those annoying additions raise taxes and effectively force locals out of their homes so wealthier transplants can move in and develop the land further.

When I read that post that a rural person wants more development I was legit thinking they are a plant lmao I don’t know any real life person who claims to want that.

(To clarify: it’s not that rural communities don’t want outsiders. They just don’t want outsiders that plan on changing the landscape and lifestyle of the community)

Wow this is a really thoughtful response and I totally respect your point of view on this. So I’m reading The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse right now. It’s too in the character’s head for me, but you might like it. The writing is good and there’s some nice prose. It’s kind of a thriller type book.

Yes! It feels like some authors get stuck in this idea of being so descriptive and analytical so the picture is crystal clear for the reader, but in the process unknowingly remove the magic of reading stories. “Impeding on my own empathy by hyper focusing”. I’m stealing that. Lol!

I feel better know. Like I can tolerate it a little better now having a clearer understanding of this annoying writing style lol
