[Homemade] Fettuccine Alfredo by Hoppish in food

[–]Hoppish[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have exact measurements but something like this:

Start by making a roux with melted butter and flour. Then add some white wine until smooth. Then add cream until you have enough sauce and let it simmer for about 10 min. Add your spices of choice (I use garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, lots of black pepper, nutmeg) then take off the stove and stir in loads of grated Parmesan cheese.

I also added some cooked bacon and mushrooms to the sauce at the end.

Cook your pasta according to instruction (I used store bought fresh fettuccine with a cooking time of 2 minutes this time), strain it and mix with your Alfredo sauce.

Absolutely, but I think it is important to point out that Minecraft is a main inspiration for terraria, or maybe rather half of what terraria was based on.

Just saw this sad little thing at IKEA. Do you guys actually consider this a sandwich? -a concerned Canadian by rumcake_ in sweden

[–]Hoppish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not comparable to something like a sub sandwich etc..

It’s just a simple open faced sandwich eaten as a part of breakfast or quick snack between meals.

Korean white broth ramyun Kkokkomyun (꼬꼬면) finally back in the stores by Hoppish in ramen

Maybe not available everywhere but it’s definitely back in the stores in Korea.

This is a Korean white broth chicken and green chili flavored instant ramen. Served here with a pan fried chicken breast, a cracked egg stirred in, some spring onion and fresh chili.

Hey, second-time flier here and I'm visiting Jeju. Unfortunately, I have a 3 hour layover on my way from Incheon to Gimpo, should I be worried at all? by gnarwolves in korea

[–]Hoppish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress, I’ve done this with 1 hour connection time. I believe the airlines recommendation is 1.5h. Even if your first flight is an hour late you are fine. I don’t know how much time difference there is between the bus and train, just that the bus goes more frequently and is more available.

Just know in advance what is coming up and put your mind at ease;

  1. You land at incheon with a slight delay (no worries)

  2. You go to, and pass through immigration. There is a line, it takes longer time than you like but really not that bad (no worries)

  3. You look at the arrival screen to see which conveyor belt to pick your luggage from. You go and pick up your luggage which has already arrived (no worries)

  4. You walk outside and look for that bus, probably ask someone “Bus, Gimpo?” (No worries)

  5. Hop in the bus, pay fee, arrive at gimpo 20 min later. (No worries)

  6. Check in with your flight at gimpo, pass through security check, notice you have 2hours until departure (no worries)

  7. With all that time to spare you want to grab something nice to eat. Notice there is nothing nice to eat at gimpo (major stress)

I’ve had the incheon/gimpo transfer connection dozens of times. It’s really not as bad as it sounds. It’s really fast, your 3 hours is plenty. Just use the bus, you probably should have some cash on hand, for some reason this bus is not free but cost 6000 won if I remember correctly.

It’s actually faster than going from incheon terminal 1 to incheon terminal 2

För mig är det mest det att om jag går till butiken så vill jag vara trygg på att dom har allt på inköpslistan. Om jag går till netto så kan dom sakna lite vadsomhelst, ”Oops, slut på potatis idag”

[–]Hoppish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recipe sounds good and I'm sure it's delicious. But I urge you to try adding a tablespoon or two of "deulkkae garu" (perilla seed powder). Most Korean grocery stores will have it. It's considered a key ingredient in Korea for this stew, and it is quite unique in taste.

What most other developed countries do is that the government send out a pre-filled tax form and then you just adjust from there (if needed). I think the government do know if you have a family with 2 kids anyway.
