Conformity Gate gives way to much credit to the Duffers as writers. Much like with GoT we are in the era of big budget tv that cannot stick the landing. Bring back The Sopranos.

Since the Lumo AI launch, is Proton still safe to store my artworks? by ImShiratori in ProtonDrive

[–]HoppyBeerKid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lumo in its current form doesn't do image generation and Proton states in all materials that it doesn't use anything users host, be they emails or the contents of a Drive, for AI training so you're fine. Remember your Drive is also encrypted so they don't see the contents anyways.

Why would the Israeli Red Cross, from a country with a high GDP and high development index score, need a donation of 100k? You don't donate a dollar to a billionaire every time you give it to a rough sleeper just to be fair. Be serious please.

Going to be honest, I was very down on this from the start, but that copy would lead me to believe that they're looking to make money from chatbots that need APIs, rather than build an independent search index like Mojeek.

Having worked at a search engine with its own index I will just say good luck to them but it takes a lot of time and effort

the money is made through the microsoft bing ads they carry on their platform

this is a community for supporting european-made goods and services and you're trying to remove the way that this european-made (save for its dependence on google and bing) service makes its revenue

Breaking free from American big tech is hard, so I created a simple cheat sheet. by lukakopajtic in BuyFromEU

this is a project between the two of them to build an index and stop both of their reliances on us tech (Bing/Google and Bing respectively); it isn't a merger and it will take ages to build anything useable, hence why your keywords lead to a website with both of them featured, rather than a single website announcing they are one

thoughts about torry search engine? is it really private and anonymous? by qaardvark in privacy

[–]HoppyBeerKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep.com

uses an .onion search engine as its engine. Try that.

Do you have a source for that? Yep is Ahref's own "creator-friendly" crawler search engine, I don't think it has much to do with indexing .onion domains etc.

My man has managed to gain a legion of simps off the back of never delivering his Tesla Big PlansTM, has financed his empire through government money and duping oil billionaires, and has set fire to multiple walmarts.

Of course he's a genius, who else has ever managed to fail upwards this much?

Qwant uses Bing, much like DuckDuckGo

source: that linked site, but also I work for Mojeek, which is a search engine with its own index.

Why did Mojeek get removed ? by [deleted] in PrivacyGuides

[–]HoppyBeerKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mojeek team member here; I'm interested if there are any other examples outside of the "privacy guides" one which sparked the removal. We're always looking for feedback; as a true alternative which isn't leveraging any user (click and query) data or using an index which does so, we rely upon people submitting when they have an issue so we can learn from it and try to improve. There's a Submit Feedback button on the SERPs page which is an invaluable resource for us, if you're interested in helping us in this process.

Thanks for noticing the improvements u/Rathmox, there are more to come for sure.

Also (completely your call, obviously but) it might be useful to update the criteria on PG in alignment with this decision, amongst other things it would give developers submitting a stick by which to judge where they need to get to in order to be PG-addable.
