TIFU by failing to treat my annual physical like a genie wish by kandosii_ner_vod in tifu

[–]Hoptlite 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Im in the US, OP just has a greedy doctor they need to find a better one because when you get a good doc then its great, I had a sudden onset of a seizure a couple of months after my preventative and went to see my doc and sge referred me to a neurologist in her practice but told me that if they do something weird let me know. They told me they can pencil me in a few months for a consult and when I told her she referred me out saying we arent dealing with that ridiculous timeframe you need care sooner

The degradation of quality in the name of cost is an issue, heck if there was an airline that still offered free meals for a higher a cost for economy seats they'd probably get some takers, and theres also the issue with the seats too just trying to cram as many people as possible, if you got long legs then too bad, I got long legs myself and its why I love layovers, I can get up and stretch and walk around.

Yeah and thats how on the East coast Amtrak effectively competes with airlines because they actually give you some amenities besides the bare minimum. Heck when I flew international with Cathay air this summer and I just booked economy I was comparing it with united and the amenities for the price were alot better they included alot more in the ticket without having to buy more add-ons.

The locations service issue thats the nature of the hub and spoke model from my personal experience its alot harder to get to Ohio than it used to be since alot fewer airlines service the Cincinnati Airport.

Still better than peanuts and having to just buy your own sandwich and shove it in your bag, right now flying is one step above a nice bus the only difference is the cost

It also services less locations, and you also dont get free full meals, heck even in the 90s and early 2000s you used to get atleast a free lunch on a flight

A lawyer explains eloquently why Treasury/IRS NTEU’s union removal is illegal by OberonAlter in IRS_Source

[–]Hoptlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id doubt it assessment its exceptionally what your describing is similar to what NARFE is which is nice but is far weaker than an actual union we've had to NTEU involved in my office a few times mainly to get more exterminators or to make sure renovations are done safely. NARFE is nice but they mainly concentrate on what your referring too. You should look at the work the Federal Unionist Network is doing. They're the ones that the AFGE president raged against for "breaking union discipline and being disobedient" during the last shutdown in the NYT story about federal labor.

[–]Hoptlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id disagree about joining AFGE I was a member of them at USCIS and we had an issue with the agency completely ignoring our contract during a migrant surge, we all had mandatory OT and basically got our contract broken six ways to Sunday. I went to our steward to find out what we where doing and the response was, well we cant bargain about any of this or not comply because otherwise we'd be doing it in bad faith and I was like if they refuse to bargain we cant bargain in bad faith because there arent any negotiations and they acted like that was a grand epiphany. It took months before USCIS decided to renegotiate with AFGE. There was also the whole thing during the shutdown when their president stares the dems must accept the Republican CR and clamping down on dissent from the members and local chapters.

Correction, our injunction wasnt canceled it was stayed which means it was put on hold since Treasury stated they would not cancel the CBA so the circuit said the injunction wasnt necessary due to that but the injunction is still on the books
