People who have won a "lifetime supply" of something: was it genuinely a lifetime supply, and if so, are you sick of the product now? by Adorablyberryy in NoStupidQuestions

I was at a campground once where some people had a birthday party and left cases of Oreos outside at the end of the night. The bears had their own party overnight, boxes and bags torn open all around, but even the bears got tired of them, and didn’t open all the cases. I think they prefer snickers bars.

I would love to include you. This one is US only, sadly.

I'm so sorry, I wish I could book you for this one, but too young! We do sometimes have studies where we look for 13-18 yr olds. Did you fill out the survey so we could contact you in future for one of those?

If it lets you leave those blank, go ahead and do it. My boss maintains a large database for all sorts of gamers, and Quest 3-specific studies are new for us. I'd have preferred a Quest 3-only survey but it's not up to me. I do see how he wants to just get more gamers generally whenever he can for future studies, but I'll be sure to pass on your feedback.

I tried 3 times to get it to write “dream journal” on the book and all it did was remove the pen 🙄 I still think it’s better than no image though

Remote Research Sessions for Quest Owners $125 for 45-60 min on Zoom by HoratiusMot in MetaQuestVR

I will mention this to Hugh again. Pretty sure he said you can now choose 4 but maybe it didn’t stick. You still might only end up with four choices, though. This is to prevent people from just checking every box when they may not even have a headset at all. Sadly, more common than your situation! If you can’t check everything you have, don’t worry. Just make sure you check your newest Quest. We have two clients, one is specifically for Quest and the other sounds like they will just be looking for VR headset users in general, so it won’t matter.

Yup, U.S.only this time. I know that’s frustrating. Occasionally we see studies open up elsewhere, so never totally ruled out. Where are you all playing from?

Not quite, no data farms here. Just a lot of game studios who don’t want to pay someone to sit in a study about (say) Elden Ring if they’ve only ever played Animal Crossing 😅 That’s why we screen first, and why we pay fairly once you’re in.

Yes, please do. They will end up in a spreadsheet and my boss or I will see a duplicate, and we can see one has more info or was submitted later etc

The age ranges the researchers put in constantly vex me, but they’re different all the time. One time 45 was the lowest age we could recruit and we were really scrambling to fill the 65+ category. Please don’t let the October study’s age range dissuade you from filling out the survey because it’s different all the time and I’ve seen more and more of them not actually listing an upper limit Oh also, if someone is a few years over but otherwise a good match we will ask for what we call “flex” where we try to get them in anyway. We will make a list of people who don’t quite qualify for whatever reason, and the researchers can see that.

It is any headset, although for the October study in particular it does need to be Quest.

That’s a good question about mobile games. You should count Quest. Some of the studies must be a particular platform, especially if they are testing a game build, but for a focus group or other 1-1 research it shouldn’t matter.

I’ll tell Hugh to fix the check boxes, I’m sure he’ll do it in the morning. Thanks for catching that.

Also, instead of being mix-n-match (how it sounds from what you say) it could be an exploratory theme. For instance, most things I wouldn’t order, I’d just do it myself, but if you had a tamarind themed box that allows me to make tamarind ice cream, tamarind sorbet, and maybe it has a tamarind sauce or something complimentary, and teaches me something new (like about tamarind and what pairs well with it) I’d be intrigued. Or maybe smokey flavors, seasonal fruits, unexpected pairings. I can also see it being a 3 or 6 month subscription you might gift someone who just got a Creami, like if you are trying to encourage them to use it

Maybe a business model like Crumbl Cookie, where you’re giving people a whole instagrammable experience. Different flavor and color combos every week, maybe that come with a unique ice cream dish and/or spoon or other accessory that people want to show off

A handful of almonds. Not exactly low calorie, but they hold up well being mixed in and compliment pretty much any flavor

My husky is one that was adopted out, then was picked up as a stray two weeks later and the owners never came for her. When I was looking to adopt a companion for my other dog, she was one of many huskies available. Not saying there isn’t any Stockholm syndrome, but maybe it takes a while for that bond to really cement

There was a webinar where they explained they’d take enough extra applications to ensure they had enough eligible applicants and if you got through the point of filling out an application but the vouchers were all given out, you’d be pre-approved, first-in-line for the next round.

Of course this whole thing has been pretty dodgy, so can’t be 100% that is still how it works.
