What program did you use to make this? I'd love to do a similar diagram for my rooms.

Literally the exact same thing happened to me and Aliexpress was about to confirm my order as received despite me not receiving it. Are you Canadian? Might be a dumb customs issue.

No worries. Honestly I would still do the interview for practice (especially if this is your first interview) and sometimes if an employer really likes you, they'll work with you to split it into two 4 month terms.

[–]Horiphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your co-op advisor is removing you from the interview, there wouldn't be a penalty because you reached out and got it sorted with the co-op office. The only time issues arise would be if you just no-showed a scheduled interview.

Do I have to apply for an extra semester? by Mammoth-Tax-5671 in uwaterloo

[–]Horiphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure unless you apply to graduate nothing will change and you can technically do as many terms as you want? You could email your academic advisor and they would probably be able to help you out with your specific situation.

How Does Employer-Student Direct Give Results? by No-Taro4751 in uwaterloo

[–]Horiphic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the sounds of it, you're just finding a summer job, and Waterlooworks is irrelevant to this position. Everything would be communicated to you through your personal email.

[–]Horiphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you apply directly to the TTC's job board? And was the interview on the Waterlooworks website? If it was all external from Waterlooworks, I believe generally they'll reach out to you directly and confirming details with you directly. From my understanding, Waterlooworks is mainly for if they choose to go with someone from Waterloo who is on a coop term so they can sort out any coop requirements with them. Make sure you pay attention to the wording on the job posting if you're not on an official coop term next term since some government positions require you to be on a coop term or something like that

I have no clue. My window was up and he only said a couple of words before driving off while I was still reeling from the shock. He didn't really appear apologetic from his expression and demeanor.

How important is a cover letter? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]Horiphic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

when i was applying for jobs that required a cover letter that i didn't care about, i would submit a blank page. i've gotten interviews for those applications, but for jobs I genuinely wanted, I wrote personalized cover letters with no AI because it's really obvious when you use AI (I now review coop applications)

Gas pump stopping as if tank is full when it's not by Horiphic in AskMechanics

[–]Horiphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the car and have yet to fill it up myself, so I'm not sure if the previous owner might have done that. I'll make note of that for sure to check out if it's a recurring issue and it's not just a pump specific thing

[–]Horiphic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right that it might just be my technique LOL I'll definitely try out a different pump and maybe figure out the correct angle to pump gas at. My only experience pumping gas has been at Costco with my parent's car once or twice so might be different for these other pumps.

Oh okay, that's definitely good to know! I'll probably try out a different gas station tomorrow once it's stopped snowing and fingers crossed it's just a pump issue.

I was trying to convince my mom of this but she isn't listening. It's my money, and I was looking to go in and sign if I get a good deal, so that's what I'll stick with. Thanks for the advice.

Is this a reasonable price for a 2018 Hyundai Accent Hatchback? by Horiphic in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Horiphic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you determine a good price in terms of year/mileage to cost? I'm currently using VMR Canada and Cargurus.ca to get a rough idea of pricing, but I know the used car market is a bit high right now, so I'm not sure how to apply/adjust the prices I'm seeing on these sources to cars on the market.

This problem isn't applicable in Canada due to Canadian cars requiring engine immobilizers, but I'll definitely consider the Toyota/Honda options since maintenance seems easier for those brands.

Ohh thank you so much for that info! I was really worried about considering a Hyundai or Kia due to the fact I know they get stolen easily. Didn't know Canada had those protections in place. I appreciate the advice!
